New Shoes
Sorry, not installed. But I am excited. Plus wheels are rated at 3650 lbs and tires are 3640 lbs which gives me 900 lb additional rear axle over the 3195 lb BFGs. (I know door tag stuff but let's be honest more capacity more better.)
35" Toyo MTs on AEV 17x8.5" wheels (Katla)
These will be my summer tires, I will run a similar size (BFG/GY/Nitto) with a 3 peak mountain on stock rims for winter.

Looks great. I have the same wheel/tire combo.

Re: New Shoes
Your axle is still only 6200. That's your hard limit. So tires and wheels only need to be rated to 3100.

Looks cool. At $240 each and +27mm offset I'd like to hear how they work for you.

Re: New Shoes
So an 11.5” AAM is only 6200lb? Did they downgrade the housing and bearings for the PW or did they downgrade the Rating for the axle due to stock tires/springs ? Which seems more likely? Part numbers should help. But it’s a stupid big heavy axle if that’s the max it can handle. A 950 AAm will handle that weight and factory torque ratings.
A Dana 70 is good to over 10klb and this is way more axle.

Re: New Shoes
It's not downgraded. If you look at the sheets, the PW rear axle has more carrying capacity, by 200lbs. Our front has less. Those are the same numbers on the Diesel and standard 2500 with both 5.7 & 6.4 engines.ramv wrote: ↑Mon Oct 22, 2018 1:08 amSo an 11.5” AAM is only 6200lb? Re: New Shoes
Ayup. It's an upgrade. Your truck can still carry a shitton but the axle is rated for 6200 but the ass end only weighs like 3500... so thats like 3700 in payload, etc.

Re: New Shoes
From the literature for the Power Wagon model verbatim:
Gross Axle Wt Rating - Front(lbs): 4700
Gross Axle Wt Rating - Rear(lbs): 6200
Axle Capacity - Front(lbs): 5250
Axle Capacity - Rear(lbs): 6010
...the front rating is lower than the capacity...

Re: New Shoes
Got it. What about 3500 SRW? Same axle, different mounts.
Seriously, these are pathetically low ratings for this axle. I have Dana 70s that are way smaller/lighter with 10klb GAWR. My 1050 AAM Chevy was 6084 lb as that was the stock 245/75R16. (Same axle in the 3500 got a 6830 lb rating as it had 265/75R16E)
With 1,200 lb of tongue weight from the Lance 1985, 1300 lb of Can Am, 300 lb of deck, tools, parts, passengers, I don't want to overload the rear tires. The BFGs were fine this year, but I only did a few a short trips with limited highway.

Wouldn't that be 2,700 lb? Which is F150 aka Visteon 975, payload?

Re: New Shoes
Thanks. I’m actually a big fan of the PW in Laramie trim and wish they still offered it. I generally buy new and the new “theme” was all that was offered, aside from the tradesman, when I finally got my PW. Had they still offered the Laramie I might have gone that route honestly. You have a beautiful truck man!ramv wrote:Sharp.Punishher7 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 21, 2018 8:43 pmLooks great. I have the same wheel/tire combo.

Re: New Shoes
Where are you located? Im sure there is someone with a Laramie near you that would trade you their chrome bumpers and grill for your setup... thats really the main difference (aside from door handles and mirrors, which could be switched also). If you are near northern MI then I might be game for itPunishher7 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 23, 2018 1:18 am

Not to drive this thread further into the weeds - but I'd never give up my Laramie chrome!!! I'd have even paid an extra $500 - $1000 to have gotten the White Knuckle Sliders in chrome - even though it would get scraped off of the underside (where it cant be seen)!!olyelr wrote: ↑Tue Oct 23, 2018 12:05 pmWhere are you located? TOO LATE I'm with you on that one. Everyone blacks everything out. I used to do that. But I like the chrome. Chrome is the new black. I think it makes the truck look classy.Bill2014 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 23, 2018 2:00 pm

Re: New Shoes
With the two tone paint and black fender flares, I’ll keep the black bumpers. All I’m saying is given the chance to get a 2018 w/ the Laramie trim I likely would have. Both packages look great though!olyelr wrote:Where are you located?
