Re: 2018 Power Wagon issues
All this negativity was harshing my Qi so I decided to call FCA for my monthly complaint review. I asked them why they don't seem to be bothered by a dealer defrauding them. She sent me a form to submit my unreimbursed expenses. Yeah, I'm still kind of pissed about the $800 I spent get my truck warrantied by a dealer eight hours away.
By the way, if you smash a dealer on Google reviews and include pictures of the damage they can't remove it.

That's awesome. I installed a 12v plug in the bed for my edgestar. Wonder what FCA has to say about that.TwinStick wrote: ↑Tue Aug 28, 2018 9:09 pmSelloutrr wrote: ↑Mon Jul 30, 2018 12:03 pmCan’t say I really care about the truck being gas or diesel. I will NEVER get to have idle time be an issue because I don’t trust taking this truck with it’s knoen issues (Let alone, the unknown ones). Anywhere roadside assistance can’t get to. IMHO the 2018 PW and RAM are a joke. I love what the truck could and should be, but I have zero confidence in the truck or Chrysler’s ability to service it. Which makes ownership no longer something I want to part of. After 7 trips to the dealer and 6weeks without the truck and no resolve to issues. Anyone considering buying a Power Wagon or a RAM in general should look at other options. If you still have to have one. Buy a used one because your NEW warranty is worthless.
Yesterday it failed to come out of park. Not to be sexist but the amount of strength to shift was more then most females could apply. (Just trying to make a visual of the amount of difficulty it takes to shift). Once it pops out of P it sounded like a box of rocks getting shook as it went through the PRND. (I took a video.. but I’m crazy it doesn’t have any issues says RAM...). Later the SXM radio stopped putting out volume. Switched to AM radio and it rebooted my iPhone. I can’t tell you how disappointed I am in this truck but not even the truck but the dealerships and corporate. The dealership can’t “hunt” for the issue they have to follow corporate guidelines. RAM “has no approved fix”. Seriously someone with the ability to read a schematic should be able to pin point the problem in the system diagram and fix this just based on the issues. Bad module, bad CPU, bad wire, bad ground... then meter continuity and look for a pinch wire. The issues all started after a drive down a road with some mild ruts. If this is the “build quality” it’s not off road quality. As for the computer side of things. I also own a Ford C-Max hybrid it is a computer. Zero issues ever! No wait the AC once shut off I took it in and in 30 minutes it was happy again. Even my Porsche Carrera is better built and more reliable then the Power Wagon, because when I have an issue they can fix it and the radio has always worked. All the research and reviews don’t tell you how little corporate cares about the quality of the build. I wish I had known. The last service tech. Basically told me I was crazy, making it up, and had buyers remorse and couldn’t afford the truck... WTF!? First off I bought it in cash out right. Second these issues are real look at the videos. The only things crazy about me is I bought an American truck and drive 5hrs to attempt to have it serviced by someone I thought wasn’t a piece of shit. It’s con isn’t for RAM to assume that because they can wash their hands and not have to swallow the fact their shit stinks. For these reasons I no longer want to own my Power Wagon or another RAM/chrslyer product.
Sadly, this is NOT just a FCA problem, nor is it just an American truck problem. My Toyota dealer wants to void my warranty on our brand new 2017 4Runner, just because i installed an ARB 12v Fridge plug !!! It is 10Ga wire, double insulated, has a 15 amp inline fuse 6" from the battery. I asked them to show me what part of the install was incorrect....they could not. I showed them that ALL of the stock wiring to the 12v outlets was MUCH, MUCH smaller in diameter than what i used. Sad.
FYI, the Ford Fiesta-Focus-Fusion-Taurus & C-Max will be killed soon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31SrVNtEut4
Complacency, poor attitude, lack of professionalism, lack of pride, & flat out laziness is the new normal in auto repair. Proven time & time again by Dealers nationwide & also the new dealer "catch phrase" of "It's on National Backorder".does that even mean ??? To me. either 1) it was so poorly designed there have been so many failures that no one has it in stock, or 2) no one stocks anything UNTIL something goes bad---which is just bad business. All the new Ram 1500's with the fancy 12" dash display that have been having problems are being told "there is no fix at this time" !!!
Ha, imagine that----$65,000+, 2 weeks old & being told that !!!

I have a hard time believing an engine would just drop a rod without any warning what so ever. I'm a straight up FCA hater these days but still think something is missing.

Mechanics didn’t design, write 10’s of thousands of lines of finite element code, perform countless stress analyses, spend years in the lab formulating new materials & experimenting, build, test, or produce these trucks.

^^^^^Reloaderguy wrote: ↑Fri Jul 27, 2018 2:52 pmWait until you buy a Ford or Chevy and they tell you the same thing. Look at how the Ford 6.0 roll out was handled; Ford fucked over thousands of owners telling them there's no fix or the EGR/Coolant/Head bolt issues were the owners fault. The reality is, as new a vehicle owners, you roll the dice on quality. The manufacturer's warranty is only as good as the service dealer or the OEM wants it to be. Fortunately, your truck is new enough that you have Lemon Laws protecting you. Do some research and find out what your rights are, if it turns out FCA won't or can't fix your truck pay a lawyer to start the Lemon Law process. Just don't fool yourself into thinking this won't happen with another manufacturer.Selloutrr wrote: ↑Fri Jul 27, 2018 1:14 amThank you! They have ran code checks 4 times. I’m not ruling out hardware issues but at the moment Chrysler has a no replacement policy on the radio. It generated a error code but Chrysler has no plans to fix the issue on models prior to 2019. Its this kind of bullshit that makes me no longer want to own a RAM
This is why I own a PW...my F250 King Ranch had 2x $3000 disasters inside 6mo’s, one was that exact problem and Ford wouldn’t cover it under their powertrain warranty.

If even half of this is true, man I feel for you. However, what is the intent of your long winded posts? If you want us to read and engage, consider organizing your thoughts better, properly layout a structure that flows and is spaced correctly, use the right syntax, grammar, tense, and punctuation...this was difficult to read and follow.Selloutrr wrote: ↑Mon Jul 30, 2018 12:03 pmCan’t say I really care about the truck being gas or diesel. Agreed, i was referring to the "engineers" that arrive at a dealership to "troubleshoot" a problem, not actual engineers that design.

Re: 2018 Power Wagon issues
Well, common sense is telling me, that late-2017 / early-2018 when Mexico got the message that the Ram HD vehicle production is moving from Saltillo, Coahuila to Warren, Michigan; quality control went w-a-y down and will continue to do so.
Just think, If our employer said, 'most front-line workers are going to start getting laid off in sixth months to a year, no matter how well their job performance may be', what kind of quality control would be reasonable from that point on?
The only issue my 15' has had was it required a PCM reflash & update. It's been perfect other than that.
Another reason for most owners to wait until the 2020 model.

The Mexicans are sabotaging trucks. It’s all Trumps fault according to CNN

my 18 is relatively perfect.. for what it is.
sketchy uconnect behavior
cracked cab lights
crappy shifting
10k miles and rear diff fluid was shot
but i trash it, and im positive i would have buried a raptor by now.
every truck, every brand, there are lemons and losers. powerwagons individually feel like they are solid as a rock, and built better then mass spec diesels and 5.7s.
the list of issues
my 2013 audi S6 was flawless
my 2014 BMW x5 50i, rattled mercilessly and had tech issues
2012 and 2016 jeep JKs, dont get me started.
2018 Ram powerwagon is perfect even with the EPA-DOT-NHTSA regulations shoved in its gullet. we just need mass scale engine/transmission tuning among us.
i was not going to find what i was looking for anywhere else. POWERWAGON
P.S @Selloutrr you just got a bad apple, sorry

It's an exception and not the norm. I've had 3 Power Wagons now, all 3 were/are great trucks with no issues besides some recalls.Bbqman151 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 9:33 pmI am thinking of buying one within the next year. I truly hope this is just a case of bad luck with this one. I know it's gotta suck having all those issues with a brand new truck. I'm like Numbnuts though. When I hear stories like this, it really makes me hesitant to spend close to 50k on a truck if they're just making junk. Somebody please tell me this is an exception and not the norm.
2010, 2013, 2017.
I will eventually get another I'm sure, but it will be a while as I'm starting to put more $$ into retirement plans as I'm getting up there a bit...

I'll probably keep it for at least 5 or 6 more years. (1 year gone already!!! Yikes.)
Now, I have noticed that when I park my truck on a hill the transmission can be a little hard to shift out of park into reverse or drive. However, that's been the case in all my trucks over the years. Do i hear a clunk once in a while? Yep. Same as every other truck I've ever owned. LOL, I even hear a little clunk once in a while in my Hellcat Challenger. Mechanical stuff clunks once in a while...

Anyway, if I hated my rig as much as some of ya all, I'd definitely get rid of it and buy a Ridgeline. LOL, if you get a chev or ferd be prepared for disappointment!
