Thinking to sell or trade in my 2006
I'm at a Tipping Point. Do I spend a few grand to get this inspectable and drivable, or do I just trade it in for a new 2018.
2006 with 113k miles. My signature pretty much tells you what I have in it.
Currently, it needs:
Driver side lower Control arm
AC charge
I'm not exactly sure what it's worth. I'm entertaining any offers.

Keep it, a little bit of money now to fix it is better than 6 grand a year for 5 or 6 years.

AC isn't hard at all. Buy a vacuum and manifold from HF then you can do the AC as many times as you want.

Re: Thinking to sell or trade in my 2006
It doesn't matter which parts you are replacing, if you crack open the AC you will need a vacuum pump and pressure manifold to charge the system. Instead of paying a shop a grand or more, buy the tools and do the job yourself.RustyPW wrote: ↑Sat Sep 01, 2018 12:07 amHe needs an evaporator.Reloaderguy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 31, 2018 11:53 pmAC isn't hard at all. Yea, you know I can't fix that shit!!! I wish I could. The whole dash has to come out. If the dealer time is 5.0, that equals to 2 weeks Ace time! That's not even including the evaporator core and refrigerant.

Re: Thinking to sell or trade in my 2006
I'll be keeping the truck. I got this far. I fear that once I change the arms, and fix the AC, that the engine will take a dump. It stalled on me today. LOL.
Just give me another year with it for some wheeling next year at Rausch, and get past my current financial obligations, for one, to pay off a whole house Generak 22kw generator I literally just ordered last week! Paying balance of $5k ($275/mo) for 18 months 0%. Tough deal to beat. That would hurt me with the truck payments!
