If you have done a Jeep, then you could have done the PW. Its essentially the same stuff, the parts are just a little bit heavier haha.

Regardless, let us know how it all turns out. I have never heard of a dealer anywhere around me that would install all of that stuff. Did you happen to talk about the warranty with them? What happens to the factory warranty? Any warranty on their work? Just curious...

capability wise, i am 100% confident i could do a superb job at install. again, i could lift the front of the jeep enough to align a trackbar by hand...

my past car was a hellcat.... my jeep jacks and stands traded in for hellcat jacks and stands, they wont quite work for this job, and i need a second pair of hands at a minimum, plus the catalog of tools and time. i tried for months to find a tooled lifted garage where me and a friend could work... well it didnt work out

jeep loaner for free is nice, as well as one stop shop for warranty work and one week turnaround.
they agreed to alignment specs, tech swears he resets all control arm bolts on level ground. they clearly are liable for install, but in any case, i plan on doing a complete retorque of all bolts and mark them up.

look im in south florida, home of 22x14s and 40s with 2 inches of sidewall
the land where high end "jeep" shops cant torque rock krawler control arms to 300ft lbs
block risers and bolt in coil spacers are "A great Ride"
and its ok to powder-coat complete axles with joints and all.
its "brotruck" life.

thank you, note passed along.

made a pit stop to see tech this weekend. he clearly is taking his time and the loaner jeep doesnt mind.

dropped it off last Monday and will probably pick it up today same hour. im ok with that, it also had a warranty parts 24 hour shipment hold.

 the dif guards and stabilizer are sweet.

not sure if i let the tech put stickers on the shocks or not?

not a joke lol but he didnt anyway. is there any effective way to get these stickers on the front res to best center them on both axis in regards to a natural resting position of the hose and reservoir?

LIFT IS ON AND ON POINT!!!

it is truly a beauty.(requested the tech come for a ride along) (his first response to my pickup handshake is 100% nicest truck ive ever had the luck to drive)
a couple yards in and you know somethings different... idling along to the edge of the dealer property and i can feel every nook and cranny of the rutted out drive, yet its ok.
right hand into flowing traffic, getting down the drive access into the drainage slope and back up to grade of the roadway...wait, my truck didnt jock rock like a bull, it rolled over the off camber, uneven grade access drive flat as a brick, transferring no body weight..this is good.

get out onto three lanes in right lane, blasted over to left lane for a u-Turn- this truck takes a uturn with almost zero body roll..and no off-putting g forces.

tech directs me to a few speed bumps, the truck feels like it just eats everything in its path.

then a short canal bridge https://www.google.com/maps/place/Pompa ... 80.1247667

got up to speed and presto. achievement unlocked. truss he we come.

PWJouster trying to figure out how to get those stickers straight

Image

Sorry, had to poke a little fun at you for this. I understand your obsessiveness, but an adult fretting over sticker placement is still chuckleworthy. Seriously, if you’re worried about screwing up your Thuren/King decals, it might be worth getting some 2” wide masking tape and practicing getting it in there straight before doing it live with the decals.

Did you have the shock bodies clear wrapped? If not, it’s probably a good idea with the salt air you have down there.

Do you have a link or part number? And do you need to cover the reseviors also? And is this something i should do out in Oregon?

I believe this is what you’d want to use. The shock body is steel but the reservoir body is aluminum, it won’t rust but it will corrode if you deal with road salt up there. Wrapping them mostly eliminates the maintenance chore of keeping the shock bodies clean and lubed. It’s kind of a pain in the ass to wrap them though. I don’t bother in Texas, but I probably would in Oregon. But seeing many thousands of dollars worth of shock rusting on my truck would probably give me a stroke, not everyone cares about that sort of thing

You can find it on Amazon in rolls of various sizes. My Kings are still being birthed at the mothership, so I haven't figured out which size roll to get for the best/easiest/fewest seams coverage.

The shock body is steel, so it needs the clear wrap if you live in a corrosive environment (ocean spray, road salt), unless you like the look of rust spots on your shock bodies. The reservoirs are aluminum, so they don't need it but it won't hurt to wrap them too.
