Bald Mountain 4x4 trail - Alaska - Local Power Wagon owners?

I’m planning on driving the Bald Mountain 4x4 trail this 2018 Summer in my Power Wagon. It is North of Anchorage in the Wasilla area. Are there any other Power Wagon owners in Alaska that would like to join during a dry period? When your truck is over 7,000lbs it is nice to have trucks of equal weight for recovery.

What happened to the LTB's!? Too much daily driving?

It sounds like we are all in Anchorage (despite my screen name—I live in Anchorage now). I’d love to find a week when it is dry. Is June the dry month i.e. best time? Also Tim it sounds like you’re the subject matter expert on the trail. So, I’ll defer to you. I will also private message you both once it gets closer to Summer.

That trail is on a southern exposure, so it might be dry-ish by June. Late summer and early fall are the dry season around here.

Welcome aboard. I see a lot of Power Wagons around town, none of them driven by people who have time for the internet and google “power wagon forum”, haha. The three of us on this thread are the only Alaskans I know of on the forum.

We plan on making a trip out of state and will be putting 8-10k miles on the truck and will be towing a trailer. I didn't want to burn them off on that trip and had a great opportunity to trade my four for five almost new 40" Pro Comps.

It all depends on the weather and how much snow we get if the water levels are low then or not. We should hit the trails this summer.
