Rear locker wiring
Hey guys, while soaking the truck down with fluid film today I noticed the wire for the rear locker is kinda dangling around with quite a bit of slack, and there is a clamp/tab on it that is not currently securing the wire to anything. I looked around for a minute or two and could not see where the hell this thing is supposed to get secured. Anybody with a '14+ waggy know?
Here is the little clip in question...

Re: Rear locker wiring
Well I don't have a 14+, but my money is on the parking brake cable or brake flex hose as an attachment point. Both components paralleling each other down to the axle housing.

Re: Rear locker wiring
I'm pretty sure Ram knew that you would need a locker bypass kit to make the lockers work reliably. It's probably for connection to that.

You will get to keep your guru of power wagon electrical wizardry badge of honor.
The parking brake lines, flex brake lines and axle vent tube are not really anywhere near this round clamp fitting. I am at a loss. Anyone with a '14+ willing to crawl under and look for a fellow PW owner?

Haha.
In all seriousness, though, without securing the round clamp to "something", the wire has all sorts of play and movement. I just cant find anywhere to clip the damn thing to.

It appears to clip to the e-brake cable.

Always blown away with the difference between a Japanese truck and American. You never see dangling wires on a Japanese truck. Its well secured. Wish US makers would adopt that.

Well I’ll be. Thanks! Guess i will have to try that again. Didnt seem like it was a good place for it when I tried earlier.
I bet it came off when I unhooked the shocks and sway bar and lowered the axle enough to get the springs loose.
And the underside of the truck just appears clean because it is soaked in fluid film hahahaha.

Re: Rear locker wiring
Limamikemike, so yours comes out of the diff, gets secured on the side of the spring pad, and then gets clipped around the e-brake line?

Re: Rear locker wiring
I’ll crawl around the rear end this afternoon and grab some better pics, I’m somewhat sure it’s how you describe it though, but I’ll confirm.

Re: Rear locker wiring
These pics hopefully are somewhat helpful, the locker wiring goes from the pumpkin to the forward side of the axle to the a clip on the spring perch then loops for some slack, then clips to the brake cable then up into the body harness.
It would appear that I have a break in my harness sheath as well, I’ll have to address that.

Re: Rear locker wiring
Yes I appreciate it very much, Limamikemike!
Yea there is no way in hell I can secure the clamp around the e-brake line, there just would not be ANY slack at all heading up to the frame. And there is no way the clamp slid anywhere, either, as it is so taped up that it cant move at all.
Maybe the clamp on my truck is in a slightly different location than yours. If it was further toward the axle I could clamp it to the e-brake line, but not where it is currently located.
I guess I will just zip tie it to the e-brake line for now and see how that works.
