Always loved the '07 VFR, wanted to get one and powder coat the wheels white. Same idea if I got an '04 RC51. We have similar taste lol.RustyPW wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 8:45 pmMy '03 had full Ohlins suspension, The front forks got the Brembo radial brake calipers. Sato resets, clip-ons, and Banzai's. Thorsten radiators and air box. Had it tuned by JC Hord in Ohio. Would like to find a '04 Nicky Edition with the polished frame. The Ohlins front forks that was on the RC51 are now sitting on my '07, 25th Edition VFR.
Pic of the solo black one was my first '05, the other one looks pretty much the same now with all the same parts back on it. Pics of the '03 were from when I sold it, after I swapped all the parts over that came on the new black '05 when I got it.

Back on topic....a few pics of my '17 to add to the mix
Day I got it home:

Three days later, sliders already installed. Absolutely some of thickest clay mud I've ever encountered. Dried into concrete. Tried to keep the left side tires out of it and it sucked me right in:

Work hard, play hard. Stopped to get some bike tires mounted on the way back to the shop after work:

Re: Power Wagon Picture Thread
I love them so far, fairly sticky, even without airing down I'm not sliding around as much as I was on the Duratrac's (could also be the added width). Not noisy at all, even with windows down they're only a touch louder than the Duratrac's. Only sord of complaint, which is just learning curve, is that the rears are cupping slightly, the edges are visibly darker/less worn or dirty after a drive. Already took them down 5 psi, gonna try 5 more....if nothing else it'll all balance out after a rotation. They are load range E which might be playing in to that.
They're the RAZR MT's btw.

c’mon Friday!!

They have finally arrived! Excited to finally get these on. The truck will look appropriately named without the stock donuts on it. Now I guess I’ll need some options to utilize the factory spare location since it’ll be vacant.
Heading out of town on vacation so I’ll have a few hundred road miles to see how the mannerisms are. Specifically on road handling, sound levels compared to the duratracs, sidewall flex etc.
The last photo there is the stock Jeep tire it looked ridiculous next to the 37’s I had to snap a picture

Laramie, the truck looks awesome on 37s! How does it ride with the Thuren shocks? Also, nice touch with the AF flag. Aim High!

Thanks brother,
Rides nice. I really can’t reccommend the addition of the rear trackbar as well really plants the rear end.
The flags weren’t on purpose but it worked out well. Wind just happened to cooperate.

Do you have the rear shocks too, or running the factory still? Also, are you saying you “cant” recommend the rear track bar?!Laramiewagon14 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2017 11:28 am

Sorry was trying to type while eating lunch. I can’t recommend it enough. Absolutely need to purchase it well worth the $$.
No rear shocks. Just the fronts so far. I will get them eventually but didn’t have the funds at the time. Also have to get the steering stabilizer.

Re: Power Wagon Picture Thread
Been a "work on the truck and get it ready for winter" long-weekend.
Old yaesu-vertex has been misbehaving for a while... quit passing audio from mic to RF deck. Still TX's but no audio gets transmitted, just carrier. Pulled it out... there was a lot more wiring in there than I remembered.

New toys.

Pop off the transfer case housing, shove a fish tape under the carpet straight back to the cubby.

Pull some mule tape
through, attach to HCH cable, and pull it back.

Little notch in the housing, holds it nice and tight.

Pokes back under the rear seat where the RF deck's going, once that arrives. (Special-order from Motorola, because I want non-standard stuff.)

Magnetic-mic is a neat product, I like it so far. Well built, made-in-USA. I'll get some more/better pics once everything's done.

Quick trip up to a radio site, fix a node that can't get GPS/time lock. Not knowing road conditions to the tower, I was asked to go along because I drive a "monster truck".
It was a non-issue getting up there. Packed snow/ice in the shade, but an otherwise easy drive.

Found the problem... fkin mice.

This site's a solid 8/10 on my creepy-shit-o-meter. I don't buy into ghost/supernatural nonsense or crazy government conspiracy theories, but ... there's something real weird about this place.

It is pretty though.

Real glad to see this place in my rearview. And I miss having cupholders.

Re: Power Wagon Picture Thread
Why don't I have cupholders? I took them out. Something broke, and the tray would rattle. Super annoying.

Made some noise and sawdust, dropped in the marine cupholders...

Going to tap into the cig-lighter (ignition-switched) and power outlet (unswitched) circuits to bring into the console.
Need to model/3d-print a switch/LED plate, get outlet boxes mounted, model/3d-print a plate/bracket for my USB charger, hit the edges with a sander, and cover it with vinyl.

Oh, and ... fixed the passenger rear door harness again.
Green/Black is for the door-open sensor - locked/armed, opening this door wouldn't have triggered the alarm... unlocked, opening this door doesn't turn on lights.

After having my rear door wire harness fixed 3x (for free by my stereo install shop), I bit the bullet & bought a new one. Hopefully good for a while. VERY aggravating.
