My neighbor down the street did a muffler delete kit on his 1500. I can hear him from three blocks away. He swears it's quiet inside the truck. I'd love change my exhaust but I absolutely don't want to hear it. I drive a lot of miles in my little commuter car and it is very loud (wind noise) inside, I can get in my truck and drive 10 hours without any of the fatigue. The droning is a complete deal killer for me and one of the reasons I haven't considered changing anything.

I have a '17 RAM 1500 Big Horn for a work truck. It has the dual exhaust. It sounds perfect... not too loud, not too quiet. Just perfect. It is definitely much more throaty sounding outside then my PW is, but it is not obnoxious inside by any means. I would love to make my PW sound like that and not have to worry about any drone.

I dont understand why the 1500's with the 5.7 sound so good and the 2500's with the 6.4 sound like a big turd.

I've been running the mufflex muffler swap (the $300 one) and you can't hear it inside the truck. You can hear it when I floor it but otherwise it's as quiet as stock inside the vehicle. It's perfect for me but others may find it too quiet.

Yeah, but i wanted to remove that dingleberry of a resonator... otherwise that mufflex option sounds perfect.

I cut my resonator off and have stock muffler. Sounds lot better to me. I can tell when it goes to 4cyl now but it is not bad at all. Wanting to try mufflex kit or a flowmaster I would like a little more growl.
Enjoying beautiful east TN

Small update. I think i have this licked now. I had to take the resonator up from a 6 inch body to a 7 inch body... but i think i got it!

If so, you're probably the first person to rid yourself of the rear resonator and have a good sounding, zero drone exhaust system for a 6.4l hemi Ram 2500.

My exhaust now rocks. I have a rear resonator but it's pre-axle. In total in consists of the Magnaflow 19200 cat back system but I replaced the 6 inch body round resonator with a 7 inch (still 4 inch in/out and center pipe). I also added a ProFlow twister 3.5 inch in and out (18 inch long 5 inch body) between the y-pipe and the muffler.

I'm not sure i would recommend this route as it ended up being pretty expensive but i was trying to dig myself out of a hole... ymmv.

Probably useless data... However. On my V6 Ranger back in the day, I put a Flowmaster Delta Flow 50 Series on, and it was very quiet (the open air KnN not as much.) On my second gen when the factory system failed, I put the biggest magnaflow 3" pipe behind the factory cat with an over the frame dump behind the passenger door. With the doors off it's obnoxious when being lugged, even with 42" Iroks humming. Decent at idle and even at high rpms. But lugging just radiates through the cab. With doors on/windows up, it's fine.
