Haydays 2017!

Post by Mule » Mon Aug 28, 2017 3:47 pm

Snowmobile stuff. http://www.haydays.com/ It's a hell of a party.
Been shitposting in enough other threads, i'll make my own.

First things first... the party wagon.
Two kegs on ice, CO2 in the body. Fully-sealed, so it doesn't leak and turn the area into a muddy mess.
Tables from the trailer mount on buttons on either side.
Yes, that's a $500 Orion cooler jockey box on top. Next to a 12v smoker.
Trailer jacks on the bottom to park and level it.
Image

Cabin up front is coming along nicely. Bunks mounted on the back wall, benches mounted on the front wall. Dinette's going to need some work (turns out they don't sell those with a tabletop... that's a separate item  ). When the cabinet guys knock out the custom cabinets up front, that'll get set in and cleaned up.

Trailer got wrapped.

Image

It turned out badass.

Obligatory Power Wagon post.
Image

Start getting sleds shoved in...
Image

Tight fit, but 6 sleds and a snowbike will fit. :o

Got everything hitched, loaded, and ready to roll out. 6 sleds 1 snowbike in the TBA trailer, 2 sleds in the trailer with 2 on the deck in the 250. Another crew left a day earlier with another 4 sleds in the trailer; we'll meet up with them in Sioux Falls.
Image

Fords. Fan clutch failed a few miles from the shop.
Image

Got that replaced in about an hour. Headed out, hitched up again, and on the road by 1930. Otherwise uneventful drive.
Image

Pit stop to fill the trailer's fuel cell before the "herd of turtles" hit the road again.
Image

Made it!

Toaster oven works. :lockedandloaded:
Image

Saturday/sunday... get snow-nerdy... shop talk, avalanche talk, safety/survival/gear talk.
Image

Sold some parts, sold some sleds, sold a turbo snowbike.
Image

Kicked some kids off my sled...
Image

Started bolting parts on the new 850.
Image

Lots of trailer tours, that turned a lot of heads. My sled looks real sharp with the wrap all done.

Sunday afternoon... load up
Image

Fuel up :cash:
Image

Pulled into town monday noon-ish. 1800 miles of bugs...
Image

Unload trailer, load up my truck, headed home (another 2hr drive for me), pulled some stuff out of the truck and promptly fell asleep on the chair in the living room.

Next gig; Denver expo. Need to get a presentation put together for a session on radio use for that show.

Typical show schedule.... there before gates open, stick around after everyone else leaves.
Shows were a lot more "fun" before I was a "professional snowmobiler". Still fun, but a different kind of fun.

Longer trips in the winter we'll try to extend the trip another day, take a day off from being a professsional to just go ride and enjoy snowmobiling.

Still a lot of long nights, long days, and a lot of time in the truck.
