Torn Bicep Muscle

Post by RustyPW » Tue Jul 25, 2017 11:27 pm

Some of you know that I torn the bicep muscle off of my right forearm. When it happened. I heard it tear. :jawdrop: I did this at work. Yeah, I'm working part time to pay for my hobbies. So this is a workman's comp claim. This should be interesting with them involved. It already is. Anyway. I have an appointment with the surgeon this Friday. I'll keep this up-dated. Not looking forward to any of this. My summer came to a sudden stop!

I was at work. Loading a cart with some flooring wood strips that weight about 80+ lbs each. Picked up a bundle from a shelf, turned around to the cart. And heard it rip, arm just dropped. :jawdrop: Got some colorful bruising in that area.

No fun. I recently got diagnosed with an 80% tendon tear in my right shoulder. Until the MRI results came in, doc thought it might be a biceps tear, pretty common with old guys. I tore mine moving granite counter slabs for my BBQ project. Will have to get surgery, recovery is 6-8 months, no guarantee of results. Arm still works, as long as I isolate the shoulder, meaning the arm is fine from the elbow down, but I have to keep my elbow hard against my body when I'm using that arm. Can't hunt with anything bigger than a 28 gauge until I get it repaired, so losing at least two duck seasons, maybe three. Good luck with the surgery.

Seen the surgeon this morning. Surgery is set for the 10th. Surprising no cast. 12 weeks before full use, but it will still take time before full strength.

and i just had my 70th birthday.
Well, 70 is the new 50! At least that's what I keep telling myself. Rolled my ankle six months ago moving travertine slabs, get the MRI results on that one tomorrow morning. Can't hunt ducks because it's my gun shoulder. Can't play golf because it's my pivot ankle.

My brother is 71. Sucker looks 55. Still going strong. :o But he had his share of surgeries. Back surgery. Torn the left shoulder cuff twice. Torn the right shoulder cuff once. Torn the bicep muscle off the bone on the right arm like I did. Think we are in competition to see who has the most scares.

When they did the x-rays on my arm. They found a piece of shrapnel in my forearm.

When they x-ray'd my knee a few years ago, they told me I had an extra bone in my knee that they normally see only in cats. Must be why I am so agile. Or not.

Got the MRI results on my right ankle. It's my lucky day. Two torn ligaments, one seven-month old tear in front and a more recent, larger "split tear" in back. Surgery when I can't stand it any more, meantime it's a heel wedge, fancy Rumanian ankle brace, physical therapy, and buying a bunch of new boots with better ankle support than my current ones. Crap.

Here you go. You can stay with us while they retrofit your PW. http://www.mainmobility.com/

They said they could retrofit my manual shift PW with a hand throttle on my gearshift, so I can work the brake & clutch & throttle, all at the same time. All I need is :cash: :cash: :cash: :cash: . Gave a rough estimate of $1000. I have NOT stopped by with my truck yet ! LOL
