Thuren .5'' springs

Someone please tell me how these springs will flex more than the stock springs. I'm about to install them but once I placed them alongside the stock pw springs they look like diesel springs.

I'm about to put my stock springs back on and call it a day. There's no way these are lift springs. I can tell they're a heavier weight spring which is likely how they achieve a .5 lift.

I was gonna chime in but you answered your own question already. I had the same concerns when I compared them haha. Sticking with stock rears on mine though for the occasional heavy camp gear or race trailer.

After driving on them a bit my opinion is that they are much more linear in the rate, however the rate seems to be about the same. They just suck up larger hits much much better. I'm enjoying them so far.

Bigger shocks with those springs will work like automotive viagra whenever you're driving lol. Good work sir! Glad you're enjoying the new springs.

Well here's the thing.... I still don't think they flex like the stock springs. They're just a more linear spring.

It will be interesting to see if the rear Thuren springs have any lift. I'm at 42.5 f/44.5 rear with the Thuren .5'' fronts.

Don installed them.

Thuren rear coils are either the same or slightly lower height than stock.

I agree mikekey. It's just an assumption on my part. I did go off half cocked when I started this thread. It would be interesting to test it.

You're just ecoing my concerns. My email exchanges with Don have been interesting. I was told, those springs are 20% softer than the PW springs. Since they appear same height unloaded, I suspect loaded the Thurens compress less giving you the height in the front.

X2. Softer would compress more for the same static weight. Plus being the coils are thicker I would believe the coil would "stack" sooner than the stock coils

BINGO. So that's what I was told via email about softness from the horses mouth.

But looking at them, if they're the same height, then the only way to give more height would be to be stiffer, or am I wrong? See the conundrum. So which is it? What's the deal. Something doesn't add up.

I find it hard to believe his coils are 20% softer than pw coils. Maybe 20% softer than the regular 2500 coils? Going by memory, I thought his site stated his srpings were 20% softer than the regular 2500 springs. Something aint jiving.

Progressive vs Linear ? Not sure that would explain it the more I think about it, but don't know.

The way progressive rate was always explained to me, if a linear spring compresses 1 inch for 100lbs of load and 2 inches for 200lbs of load, then a progressive rate would compress 1 inch for 100lbs, then 1.5 inches for 200lbs then 2 inches for 300lbs and get stiffer as more weight is added.

Dunno, just totally guessing.
