Did you take before and after measurements? Just curious if you got the full 2 1/2" of lift... Based off my measurements if I did a 2 1/2" lift the front would be a touch higher than the back... Id be OK with that if I actually do a front bumper replacement but the only bumper I really like is the AEV one and I have no idea when it will be released for the PW and I'm a bit turned off by the price...AlterEgo wrote:The levelling kit was a Max trac 2 1/2"

Re: My 2014 build
I actually talked to AEV today and they said the bumpers are shipping right now. If the time table holds, I'd say sometime between next week and Mid March we will see more info on AEV (see the AEV thread as I'm trying to not jack this build thread).14PowerWaggy wrote:Did you take before and after measurements? I just talked with my rep at AEV. Bumpers are not ready to ship yet. I was told they will have a better idea on an eta this week.

I am using a Comet dual band but I do not remember the model #. I didn't want to have to run with two seperate ones.
My 2014 build
It has been awhile since I have posted on here. I know have the AEV lift for 40" tires installed. I am not running 40's, but I needed the axle pushed forward because of the rims I am running. I also have the AEV diff covers front and rear. Most recently the PSC Hydro assist steering kit.

I really like it, not as light a steering feeling as I thought it would be.

Re: My 2014 build
For anyone wanting to mount a 5th wheel in the newer trucks, they are predrilled for the OE underbed system. You only have to drill the large holes in the bed and mount up the no-drill brackets. I'm not sure what year it started but my '16 has the bed stamped and the frame holes.

What fluid did you use. I had to experiment and go really thin. I'm currently using mopar hydraulic power steering fluid p/n 68234631aa. It also the one spec for the 01-04 jeep grand Cherokee as it had a hydraulic cooling fan. Not electric. This fluid is nice and thin and works well in the cold weather and the psc ram seems to like it

Re: My 2014 build
Psc clearly states not to use atf. In every single piece of paper they have writing pertaining to power steering fluid it flat out says not to use atf. You now have a hydraulic ram. You need a proper power steering fluid/hydraulic fluid

Swepco 715 is what I use, and is recommended by both PSC and Howe. I don't know about northern climes but it works great down here in tejas

Re: My 2014 build
I had this installed at a shop, I will look at swapping the fluid out for a synthetic power steering fluid.
Thanks

Re: My 2014 build
I'd get mad at the shop. If you gave them the kit or they ordered the kit the instructions that come with it are very clear on what fluid to NOT use and what they reccommend. I hate it when others touch my truck. They always f it up.
I like your air tank mount. Looks solid!

They said that it is a re-geared factory steering box so to use factory fluid.nts007 wrote:I'd get mad at the shop. The mount was not that secure at the top so I used a hose clamp to connect it to the C clamp holding the tonneau rail. Nice and tight now.

Re: My 2014 build
Haha those hose clamps come in handy all the time.
Truthfully the only reason the factory used atf in the steering system is to save cost. One fluid for the majority of the units. Is it the best fluid for keeping the chain lubed in the t case? No. But it works well enough to last past warranty. It's what Chrysler does. Changing the fluid to what psc recommends will improve your assist power and make it that much easier

Some old pics, but I never posted about putting on my White Knuckle Sliders, I was the first one to get them for the 4th Gen PowerWagon. I also am running B.A.D. Wheels now. The truck is currently in the shop getting 4.88's put in.

It looks good but looks low to me due to the offset.

I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

I like it low, clears the 37"s with no rubbing. No extra height required for my taste. The offset is pretty crazy but I love those wheels. Will wrote:It looks good but looks low to me due to the offset.
