SoCal GTG - Planning input wanted

Post by BlkWgn » Mon Nov 26, 2012 5:52 pm

So I have noticed that there seems like there is more activity in the SoCal area lately, and figured we should meet up. Maybe make a weekend of it.

What I need from you guys is suggestions on when and where to go. I have MLK day off, so I was thinking the weekend of January 19-21. It gets us past the Holidays, but is not too far off into the future.

As for the location, I was thinking maybe Anza Borrego, or Lucerne (I have a couple places in the Anza area in mind depending on group size), depending on where people are coming from. I am game for a Snow trip, but want to keep it family friendly so everyone can come along and have a great time. Maybe a Sat night Potluck

so throw out some ideas, and let see what we can come up with.

I can only do the weekend of JAN 12-13, I am working that next weekend, so if we could shift I would be down for JT or DV. I want to hit them before the weather gets too hot.

I'm heading down to Joshua Tree Saturday for a day trip. Plan to do Berdoo, Geology, and Old Dale. Let me know if anyone wants to meet up. Being told from the Expo board that there will be a lot of traffice down there this weekend. I'm going either way.

I got a new tent for Christmas and have not gotten any snow time in yet, so I think I am heading to big bear for an overnight this weekend

Let me know how the snow is. What camp spot or trails are you planning to run?

the reports I am hearing are 2-4 inches. I am probably just going to go to the Holcomb Valley Campground, or a yellow post in the general area. heading up by myself so I dont really have a set plan
