It's the same grille that's on the Rebel. You can get them on ebay. I've got 3 in my watch list, fyi.

It works with the stock hoods. Figured it was different because to fit a 1500 grill on a 2500 you need hood as well

Notice the rebel bumper's front end, that because they used a different bumper, it ended up with the bits under the headlamps, the grille lower than the regular 1500's

The very bottom of the center section looks different to me (lower on the rebel).

I also thought the HD's had higher hoods to clear the Cummings radiator? Yes the 'g' was just for fun! ;)

2500 has a flat bottom on the grill to conform to the flat top of the bumper. The 1500 is shaped on the lower part of the grill to conform to the drop on the center section of the bumper.

Question, though, is that bottom piece removable. Becuase what makes more sense from manufacturers perspective. Making two grilles or one where the bottom changes out?

No but they always do what makes sense for their bottom line. And one grille makes sense.
