Pics are cute, lets see some video! 12.40s pass on 35s with front lockrite in and a 12.07 pass when truck was lowered with different setup (and a converter too tight to spool turbo quickly). My ole 97 12v daily driver
I dont' take mine to the drag strip, as I have no desire to run it there. I've got nothing to prove to myself, or anyone else. I know it's fast and someone out there is always going to be faster. The ride, power and handling of my Z06 is what I like most. Occasionally I'll run someone on the street, stoplight to stoplight, but I don't even do that much. I just enjoy backroad runs with a club I belong to, just to show the Lamborginis and Ferraris that America can still hang with the best of 'em!
I haven't been to the drag since my F-Body days back when I lived in VA. I'm like you, as I gotten older I've gotten more into appreciating all kinds of cars and enjoying the ride and unique experience of each. Although I still love to go to the cruise-in and BS with other gearheads.

But back when I was in my 20's Camaro's trumped Mustangs. Until I owned a Mustang, then I got it. Then I had an Audi and I got the tuner scene some. I just love the automotive hobby.

I never understood trucks till I got into it. I think the guy who thinks only one type of car is the best, is selling their experiences short.

And mud slinging comes with it.

My father had a 2002 z06 and a 2006 z06, both were nice cars and both made visits to the track (12.40s and 11.50s respectively). I had a 01 SS camaro that ran 11.60s (cam, headers, bolt ons, 12 bolt with with 4.10s, ls1edit tuning). Eventually I lost my mind and had a 434" darton wet sleeved ls1 built. Put on some half ass c5r heads (370cfm), sb2 intake reworked for the c5r ports, and a solid roller. Stopped having fun given how much money I had in the car and the fact I didn't have a place at that time (was renting a room, put the car together in my parents garage). Sold the motor to a guy who installed it in a similar year trans-am (ran 9.70s n/a on pump gas no nitrous at 3350lb race weight) and sold the chassis locally. The most fun I had the the camaro was when I had 17" zr1 (275s up front and 315s in the rear) with nitto drag radials and street radials up front. In that config the car was good for 11.90s at 119mph and handled extremely well. Can definitely appreciate a street machine but the track is damn fun! The camaro in that trim was fun because it did both well enough for the money I had invested.

I've live near and have known Sal Patel for years (black viper that has been 6.90s, has a gtr that runs mid high 8s). Just because someone will always be faster is no good reason to no go "quick" yourself:)

The 97 truck was alot of fun and it was awesome to bust people's asses in an old 4x4 pickup. Miss that truck but the power wagon and it's reliability are hard to beat at age 36 with a family!

Sorry, nothing mid-engine Pontiac (G65, Solstice, or the poor GTO remake) made my list of cars I had/am/or will lust after...that goes for the Aussie Monaro version. The Fiero Gt was Pontiac's last great car...

Half way...they were awesome for what they were, which admittedly wasn't much, but they were a cool quick niche little sportster.

Unfortunately, I have to admit that I had that exact hairstlye (albeit slightly different, I have very dark brown, almost black hair), business up front, party out back, and lines down the sides!!!!

I really want that supercharger setup for my Wagon! That would be a LOT of fun! I could really get the Wagon sideways exiting work with that setup, LOL!

On engine life with a power adder. It's all about the tune. If it's a shity tune. The motor won't last.

I do trackdays with a 370Z Nismo. Tire sizes. Front 295/35-19, rear 345/345-19 Mich Cup's. Rims, Forgeline ZX3-R custom 3 piece, sizes 19x10, and 19x12. Shocks, JRZ 3 way coil-overs. Brake rotors, Racing Brake 2 peice. Full SPL suspension bearing kit. It replaces all the bushing with bearing. Full FI LTH and exhaust. Custom Up-Rev dyno tune. Plus a lot more.

Oh yeah man, if I had all the money I spent in my 20's I could probably buy three or four new 2017 Power Wagons. Ugh.

Been down to Tail of the Dragon yet? I imagine there is fun stuff out west, but all I really know is everything back home east.

Wow this thread went way off topic. ;)

I couldn't imagine having that much power and the resultant gas-mileage! My transmission already failed on my 2016 PW stock at 6,000 miles, I couldn't imagine with another 150 HP.

I got 10mpg towing an enclosed trailer 1400 miles to Washington, half of that through mountain passes, gross weight at 12800lbs. How are you getting that bad mileage?
