Re: Need more HP/Torque???
Yeah, I saw that yesterday. That would be pretty awesome. 478RWHP is almost 600 crank on the stock block. That would be a towing beast!

Re: Need more HP/Torque???
Whipple makes an awesome supercharger, no doubt a stout piece, I do however find the $7K price point a little hard to live with. I do however know that is about the going price point for any aftermarket forced induction kit, plus tuners, exhaust, ect, ect, never ends. Also, not sure about the long term effect on the stock bottom ends in these trucks ?? Someone should totally get one and report back

I suspect an engine cooling upgrade would be needed if used as a towing beastMikeKey wrote:Yeah, I saw that yesterday. That would be pretty awesome. 478RWHP is almost 600 crank on the stock block. That would be a towing beast!

Yeah no lie there on the gas station drag race...lol. Also pretty sure these trucks don't need it (for what they're made for)...nor would I think the blocks are built for that. The chassis, axles and gear boxes I'd be comfortable with but not so sure on the transmission. Although if you never tried to do full throttle take offs and were judicious in using the accelerator I'd bet you could make it work without too many more upgrades. It was just an interesting point to discuss and see what others thought. And I did email them to see if they had stats for the 6.4L setup....just crious.

I do too...just not necessarily in the truck. I leave that fun to my Hellcat Charger. My wife is waiting for the 2017 SRT Durango...lol. She wants something with AWD for the snow here in NY. Works for me I guess.

Re: Need more HP/Torque???
$7,000 is cheap for something like this. Seen $20,000 spent on twin turbos for a 3.7 V6 a lot of times. $15,000 for the turbos and the rest on supporting mods.rkgzx9leftcoast wrote:Whipple makes an awesome supercharger, no doubt a stout piece, I do however find the $7K price point a little hard to live with. Re: Need more HP/Torque???
I would rather spend $7000 on 4.0 shocks on all four corners, long arms up front and link suspension on the rear for the truck.

Re: Need more HP/Torque???
I think your 6.4 would comfortably run 800hp with that kit running 12psi, pistons, and studs. The 6.4 is majorly over built. The 66RFE is going to shit the bed though.jtcarlsen67 wrote:Yeah no lie there on the gas station drag race...lol. Re: Need more HP/Torque???
The Whipple kit is only 7.5psi. To really do it right would probably cost $15k+ for engine and transmission.RustyPW wrote:$7,000 is cheap for something like this. Re: Need more HP/Torque???
Do a search on big gas hemi heads. The 6.4 seems like a perfect candidate for something like this if not expected to survive nascar endurance racing with this kind of power. I can just picture the oem trans turning 37" tires with over 600 crank hp lmao. Sounds such as: shapow, kaboom, whamo, clunk, bang, and free reving in drive come to mind!
Re: Need more HP/Torque???
Hmmmm, can this thing be slightly de-tuned maybe, to run just a little less boost ? Just curious. I don't know too much about them. Some people change pulley sizes, what does that do ?

Re: Need more HP/Torque???
Pulley is related to boost. On my old termi Mustang, smaller pulley was a favorite mod of an already supercharged engine. Not sure why you would want to detune it more. I'd be curious about cranking it up to 12psi and supporting mods. But honestly, the truck isn't really a platform I'd dump that kind of time/energy into. As cool as it would be, it's still a truck.TwinStick wrote:Hmmmm, can this thing be slightly de-tuned maybe, to run just a little less boost ? Just curious. I don't know too much about them. Give me an LSX and some boost though.

Re: Need more HP/Torque???
Keeping my stock clutch in tact is why i was asking. It would be for towing. I think 425 to the wheels would be perfect & still let me have a long happy clutch life. When ordering my truck, we all thought the G-56 was the same as the diesel. Unfortunately, after a few years, I found out it was not the same at all.Reloaderguy wrote:Just don't push down on the gas peddle so much.TwinStick wrote:Hmmmm, can this thing be slightly de-tuned maybe, to run just a little less boost ? Aussies take their cars pretty seriously. A rebadged Holden can still take corners better than a Charger or Challenger. Easy to talk smack.Reloaderguy wrote: A Holden owner talking shit, how bout dat!

(Swore I had a picture of both together outside the garage, but nope.) Ok, I lied, guess I am into boats. But I love the lines. Too bad you gotta shove an LSX in it to make it a performer. Oh and on upgrading everything. VACCUM LINES!!!! ARGH!!!!

Re: Need more HP/Torque???
I dont' take mine to the drag strip, as I have no desire to run it there. I've got nothing to prove to myself, or anyone else. I know it's fast and someone out there is always going to be faster. The ride, power and handling of my Z06 is what I like most. Occasionally I'll run someone on the street, stoplight to stoplight, but I don't even do that much. I just enjoy backroad runs with a club I belong to, just to show the Lamborginis and Ferraris that America can still hang with the best of 'em!NickTF wrote:https://youtu.be/Ybxf_8I0utE
