I'm happy, yes 37's would be better but not for me due to the miles I drive. I have the Hypertech Speedometer Calibrator (752501) coming, they said it will work on the 2016's. 285/75r17 Toyo MT

Stocks BFG's -

Garbage, separated on me after 50,000kms.

Duratracs studded - 25,000kms

Great tire, got them used from my mechanic for free, they had 60% tread or better left on them. Great tire I ran them for a winter and spring before I blew a side wall. Would get them again if they made a 10ply 37" but, that's asking a little much I think.

Fierce Attitudes - 35,000km

Great all round traction, not bad on the ice, chewed through snow, sand, mud, gravel, all of it. Cleaned out well, took a LOT to balance, approx. 16-20oz per tire. Downside, soft side walls, blew one. Still have 70% or so on the 3 remaining I have. Waiting on 1 new one to show up so I have a set of 4 again. just in case.

Introducing The Maxxis Trepador! 2,000kms

heavy as all hell, about 85lbs a pop, 3ply side wall, listed as a 8 ply tire, but the seem really stiff for being 8ply, no weights required for a smooth ride. Come new with a whopping 21/32 tread. Will keep you all posted.

for pics see my thread. http://forum.powerwagonregistry.org/vie ... f=2&t=3800

Today I had new Toyo AT2 305/70/17 load range E installed on my 15' Wagon. I love these tires and I'm thrilled to say goodbye to my Durashakes. I've had the Goodyears balanced twice and the truck would shake in the 65-70mph range. The new Toyo's are smooth at all speeds and honestly the truck handles much better with less wandering.

Since I took delivery of my Wagon last July I was disappointed in it's road manners compared to my previous 10' Ram 2500, which had 285/75/17 Toyo AT2's when I traded it. I wasn't sure if it was the new front suspension setup of radius arm vs. control arms but I can now honestly say it was the factory Duratracs. Going from the load range D Duratrac with a notoriously weak sidewall to the E range Toyo makes a big difference.

The Toyo's are also quieter and smoother than my Duratrac's with 13,000 miles on them. I did purchase a 5th tire for the spare. With the spare inflated to 65psi it just squeezed into the stock location but it fit.

I'll get some pic's tomorrow cause I know, my words are useless without pic's.

Time to put the Duratrac's on Craigslist.

I had 35 x 12.50 R17's Toyo Open Country R/T put on my factory 15 SLT today. Little to no road noise, especially compared to the DuraShakes. I'll update as I put more miles on them. No rub on either side at full lock. Might rub a bit at full stuff with full/near full lock. Looks awesome without being overbearing. Went with these because their actual width measures 12.5 inches (open country m/t and trail grapps come in around 13.2 in this size). I was also worried about road noise with an mt. I ran trail grapplers on my old truck and the noise didn't bother me too much, but it was a half ton.

I got 37,500 miles out of the shakes, and could have eeked out 5-10k more. They were starting to chunk a bit and the wearing slightly unevenly (rotated every oil change). Performed very well in every condition I had them in (mud, snow, ice, rocks), other than highway. OK on highway, but for that level of tread aggression (moderate), they were incredibly shaky (had them balanced 3 times in the first week) and loud. I wouldn't buy them again, but I can see why guys like them.

Not expecting anything miraculous out of these, but with the level of tread aggression, good width for factory rims/stance, and a 45,000 mile tread life warranty, should end up happy. Unless they blow off road.

Thanks fellas. Guys at the shop were drooling over it (sales guy with a non pw 2500 actually took my old tires).

Only drove it from 4wp to the house, so not a big frame of reference, and I was driving into a significant headwind. That being said, didn't notice any difference in acceleration or braking.

Haven't had the speedometer recalibrated yet. For 4wp to do it, I had to buy the unit. Will get it to a dealer and have it done soon.

I'll put quite a few miles on it this week and will let you know if I notice a change in performance.

I've got roughly 20k on my 37's, and they've got a lot of tread left. I have no doubt I could hit 50k with these. Love them.

I was trying to get an order placed for the red letter General Grabbers in 37x17, but the local General/Continental dealer (commercial & farm equipment outfit in farm country) said there's none available at any distro centers, only 35's. But then he recommended I give Hercules tire a serious look, said the company is solid, been around since the 50's, they do their own development, but contract out production to Cooper, General, etc. He said they're almost $100 cheaper/ tire than the Grabbers, & nearly as good (although the owner runs the Grabber on his own F350) anyone have experience with the Hercules Trail Digger MT, the largest they offer is 35"?

I have an update on the general grabbers in 35"

They have been going strong!! They spend half their life on gravel and half on highway. Tow about 25% of that.
They are wearing AMAZING!!

There is now 137,000km on them. The fronts are at 9/32 and the backs are 8/32 tread. Measured at their shallowest point. This is ridiculous. But no complaints. They are mounted on an 02 2500 Cummings for reference. Have been for most of their life now. Here's some pics

35 12.50 17R NITTO Mud Grapplers :thppt:

rough mileage is between 40K and 50K per set. This is based on two sets that I have had sense 2006 and just turned 96K miles on OX.

The most aggressive tire I have had todate... yes I have run superswampers and Gateways monster mudders to name a few. If you like aggressive tires off road, loud tire on the highway and awesome performance on the road, then mud grapplers are designed for you.

How much do those 3rd Gens weigh compared to a 4th? Are they close to the same? Everyone I've seen barely got 30k out of them as well.

So lets see... How do I get that kinda of mileage :secret: ... I would not say that I baby her, but for example on the interstate I never go over 65mph. When turning I have always been taught that you should never dry steer... and I for the most part listened to my elders  I do what I can to preserve OX and do not attempt the "Watch this" type of stuff. You can look up my threads and see that I do a fare amount of off roading.

I believe I heard someone say a while back that the 3Gen PWs weighed in around 7500lbs. I could be off, so this is just my guess on what I remember.
