Borrego Fest - Anza Borrego Desert State Park October 19-21,

This is an event from Outdoor Adventures USA, but all are welcome. It is a great group, and there will be Ham testing sessions on Sunday morning.

October is finally here and it's time for our biggest annual desert event. Join us in the Anza Borrego Desert for 3 days of camping, 4x4 trail runs, and hiking. We will also be offering Amateur Radio License testing on Sunday for all levels from 10Am to noon. The "not to be missed" pot luck dinner and campfire will be on Saturday evening.

On Friday evening Diana and Lowell Lindsay will be joining us for a presentation on one of Anza Borrego's most famous past residents - Marshal South.

This is a family friendly event and an opportunity for us to meet the family members we never get to see on the trail. This year we will be located at the Butterfield Ranch Resort, located just outside the Park boundary. The Ranch is equipped with full hookups for RVs, plenty of tent camping, showers, and a well stocked store.

Anza Boreggo was my old stomping ground when I was stationed in San Diego in the Navy, I was King Rat of the Rat Patrol (A bunch of instructors in Navy electronics school) LOL

Who knows I might be able to make this trip.....

I looked at the oausa site but can't find anywhere to register for the forums...any ideas? It seems like there are no replies to any of the threads either...????

If I do go I will camp off site.

The registration button is on the forums page http://forums.oausa.net/ on the right hand side just below the search box. You may not see the replies in that area until you are registered.

If you have any other problems getting registered let me know. It would be nice to have another member of the :winchmob:

Darn, I can't make it. I have Friends of the Forest function that weekend. I need to look at my PW calander more often LOL

I did see on the Outdoor adventure site that they had a Sedona fest some time ago...that would literally be in my backyard!

Hmmmmmmm.... interesting. I have always wanted to see that place. AND I have a HAM radio sitting in my shed for two years now I need to install and also need subsequent licence. Could I manage yet another adventure in 2013 before my wife kills me?

ugh..weak.... I am in the wrong year. Damn. I need to pay attention.

I am not sure on the dates, but Borrego fest is a yearly event. I will get you the dates. We also do field Fay, this year will be near Frasier Park, I believe that is the third weekend in June
