Good news/bad news
Good news/bad news
In November my wife totaled my 2004 Laramie CTD. In December I started looking for a new truck and noticed that diesel now costs 51 cents a gallon more than unleaded. Started looking at gassers and saw a Power Wagon. Immediately started looking for one, none for sale in Alaska. Went to dealers to inquire about ordering a new one in the Laramie package. Dealer said they did not know if factory was going to produce anymore and I would have to wait until production schedule was released after 1 Jan 2015. Called dealer 2 January and made the deposit. Now I am in the dreaded waiting period, waiting for VON, waiting for VIN, waiting for completion, waiting for delivery and finally waiting to make the 350 mile drive to pick up my new Power Wagon. Probably not till March.
Playing the waiting game, ordered 2015 Laramie Power Wagon on 2 Jan 2015.

Re: Good news/bad news
Man if diesel was .51 a gallon difference here I would really miss my diesel... We are any where from 1.00 to 1.25 per gal difference here in Ar.. Az and NM was even more than that.. Welcome to the club you'll like your new ride when you get it...OMOTM wrote:In November my wife totaled my 2004 Laramie CTD. Nice choice and good luck! My 14 took 4 months from order day to delivery. Long sad story but now it's here and I love it!

Re: Good news/bad news
As far as specs, not a lot of options, just Laramie package without box or sunroof. Deep Cherry paint, I did request the power wagon decals on the sides and I requested two accessory plugins located in in bed of truck by tail lights. Getting trifold tonneau cover, spray in bed liner, dual alternators and all the interior amenities.
After I get the truck, then I will start adding items I think are necessary and or bling. My primary off reading will be mud and snow. I am getting lots of ideas from the forum, so much that my wife gives me "mean eyes" when I log in.

Walked in to dealership, saw my truck, drove it 2 days later And had everything I wanted! And they had 3 more sitting on the lot. The only thing I woulda changed was the paint color, but since orange wasn't available, I went white.

Re: Good news/bad news
Not in the 15, from the brochure I was handed. At least in Canada. And really didn't want to give up the laramie goodies. So, white it was!
Re: Good news/bad news
There was only one PW on the lots in Alaska, it belonged to the sales manager. I prefer to wait and get the truck the way I want it as opposed to adding stuff after receiving it. I will add "after market" items, but the basic package will be OEM. I also had to travel 350 miles to get the deal I wanted, but it is worth it.
I am particularly interested in after market traction items, like tall narrow tires vs big fat tires, locker bypass, wheel hop reduction.

I had to travel over 600 miles to get my Power Wagon, but it was worth the drive. Nothing like a road trip home in a brand new truck!OMOTM wrote:There was only one PW on the lots in Alaska, it belonged to the sales manager. I had to drive an insane 10 miles. Guy that ordered it got sick of waiting and bought something else. This one hit the lot and I snagged it. No waiting this time!!!

Dealer called, vehicle order number (Von) has been issued. Build should start very soon, you would think I had ordered an alien, dealer has very little experience with Power Wagon but they are treating me right.

Received VON and VIN, contacted Ram service, estimated 5 weeks. I was beginning to think that dealer had not submitted order in a timely manner. Glad I was wrong. Rep said it may be sooner since it had already been in "D" status for a while.

Truck build is complete, now pending quality assurance inspection, then shipping. Hope shipping doesn't take to long, sometimes items are held up in Tacoma pending full load for shipment to Alaska. Time to start picking out additional items to add on.
