Hardwired Lockers with OEM Knob

I posted this in another thread but thought it would do more good here. The 2013's are a little different at least mine was.

The first pic is where you have yours mounted notice the ground wire and the metal line. I mounted the box on the post to the right of the radiator right below where the Tee part of your kit plugs in. I have to neaten up the extra cable I coiled it up quickly to test the locker bypass out. I've used the lockers a few more times just checking out how quick they lock. I am very impressed this is how it should have been from the factory very quick. Thanks again. Now we need a decal/rear window sticker Myoung Locker bypass

That's very interesting. Is your truck a Laramie by chance? I know the Laramies have separate driver and passenger HVAC, maybe that's the reason for the difference?

No it is a SLT level. I'm not sure what that line is didn't really look it over too much was just trying to get the locker bypass installed. When I get time I'll go look it over and see what that line goes to. I'm curious have any other 2013 owners installed your kit yet?

My 2010 has the same things, it'll fit under all of that. See next post for picture. The box is the clean black thing with the shiny screw in the top left corner

i can do one better i can send you a complete 07 harness from the switch to the locker leads.

Does anyone know if installing the (should be patented) myoung bypass mean that I could remove the original (cajunPW) transfer case fooling bypass and still get lockers in 4hi and 2wd? Also, it would really be nice if it enabled you to stay locked and leave the swaybar disconnected and be able to turn off the truck, get out, and do whatever then get back in, turn it back on, and resume where you left off without getting the serv 4wd light. I don't know if it just my truck but it really bites having to disengage the lockers, and connect the sway bar before you turn it off to avoid the serv 4wd.

I can't speak for removing the old but you can do what ever with the new. I just checked mine, locked and turned it off, cranked it back up. All good. Still locked and nothing flashing. The sway bar is still operated the other way I think. If I disconnect it and turn off then back on you have to hit the disconnect button again.

Doesn't really matter. Mine (hardwired) is still hooked up, mostly because I haven't had the motivation to remove it. Won't hurt anything either way but the only benefit you have is the ability to unlock the swaybar in 2wd. The lockers don't run though the smartbar anymore.

Sweet thanks guys. Myoung I hope you find out the key to producing the 3rd gen package and have the desire to crank out about 10,000 of them! I imagine they would sell like hotcakes! (or just one for me would be ok as well )

Locker bypass showed up in the mail yesterday!!!!!!!

My first comment is on how professional the whole kit is, great looking work myoung!

Now I am in the midst of reworking my weekend plans to see if I can find time to install it then do a small wheeling trip to test it out. I'm a pretty impatient guy when I get a new mod, don't like just looking at it in the box.

That is not just you GunniPwguy, it happens to all of us 3d Gen rigs. There is nothing we have found as of yet to fix this issue. I do not use my OEM switch anymore as my lockers are wired directly to toggle switches.

Good luck, and the Myoung switch looks very professional, good job on all the details Myoung84, you should look to get a patent on it before someone else does.

Kind of on subject. Does anyone know If I were to hardwire my lockers, using new wires for the two positive/ground wires and leave the other two sensor wires intact on the plug, would this keep the factory lights happy on the dash? In other words, would doing this keep the lights solid and green even though the jerry rigged locker switch was telling the locker to lock? Just would be nice if you could do this mod and not have the locker lights on the dash blinking at you the whole time.

I plan to change the bypass resistor to make it a 4hi bypass and allow me to disengage the sway bar in 4hi. I have never once used the locker in 2wd so I see no reason to tolerate the throttle remapping when in 4lo mode just to let me get the sway bar turned off.

Anyone remember what resistor rating is needed for fooling it into seeing 4hi instead of 4lo?

I think you've got the wrong connector for the T-harness. I see the computer in the background and the connector your looking for is towards the front of the truck, behind the headlight on the passenger side of the truck under the hood to the right of the radiator. I'm showing that I've shipped to 4 other 2010s and haven't heard anything about the wrong connector.

Duh I screwed up, sorry. Figured it out all installed and tested. One question, when I switch it to front and rear lockers both lights for the selections remain lit. Is this normal with this setup. I know on oem when you switch over to both lookers the rear locker lite goes out. Just wondering Otherwise this is a superb kit I recommend that everyone should have this on their trucks.
