What new toys do I/we need?

If it's about Power Wagons, all generations, this is where it'll go. This is the original PWR Forum Power Wagon Technical Discussion Section. And this includes everything that doesn’t fit in any one of the other categories related to the truck goes here!

What new toys do I/we need?

Post by myoung84 » Fri Jan 31, 2014 4:24 pm

With Valentines Day and an anniversary coming up in the next couple months, my wife has been asking what I want. For once I really don't have any good ideas, at least for low cost stuff. Here's a few things I have in mind for later but really don't want to spend this much on the truck right now. Starting to think about a new house so I really don't need to be dropping a ton of cash on the truck any time soon.

Sliders. I wouldn't mind a set of White Knuckle sliders but with a short wife and a 6 month old baby, I can't give up my power steps. So, sliders are out for now.

Free-Spin kit. Wouldn't mind doing this mod but don't really want to spend that much cash right now.

Long Tube Headers. I read on another forum that Stainless Works has a guy test fitting some long tubes on a Power Wagon to see what modifications need to be made to fit the 2500 4x4. Would like to eventually do this but again, not looking to spend $1200+ on the truck.

What are some more ideas of stuff that we can't live without? Doesn't have to be for the truck either....

Yes, i always thought a rear mounted winch is something these trucks should have had from the factory.

You could get LED bulbs for the interior if you haven't already done that. Nice little cheap thing that you will notice. Or a locking gas cap for peace of mind... lots of little stuff.

EDIT: Damn, assuming your sig is up to date you don't have much that I can think of. Had to delete half the stuff I listed after I looked at your sig.

John will get back to you. He usually takes a few days. He is a one-man shop. It's worth the wait.

I have a short wife and White Knuckle sliders. They work well as steps. You can get the diamond plate tops for more sure footing.

LED light bar, new fog lights, new headlights, ARB cooler (really want), roll cage, RTT, on board shower, on board air, On board welder, custom flat bed, Atlas, lower gears, stroker engine, second set of tires. Sure there is more I want and need but that's a pretty big sweet expensive list already. Going to dream, dream big lol!!!!!!!

Man, you guys are just as bad as I am!

I don't think I want to to do the roof LED bar because that would eliminate the possibility of pulling the truck into my garage. It's too long to sleep in there but I still pull it in partially for oil changes. Also have to consider the parking garage at my wife's work.

And the 3rd gen and 4th gen headers are different. The 09+ engine has different shaped exhaust ports.

Sliders might still be a possibility when the baby is older but for now the power steps stay. I stand on the step while buckling her in her seat, won't be able to do that with the sliders.

That's exactly my plan right now. I'm kind of scared to be honest- that stuff could get expensive. At the very least I want different wheels. I fear from there the AEV Want List will grow...

If I lived in Missoula, like you do, I would visit that place every.single.day. They would know my name when I walked into the door! Hell, I'd even throw them the keys to my truck for them to specifically make things for the Power Wagon! Did you mention to Dave yet about the possibility of a snorkel and other items we're interested in? Perhaps some AEV differential skid/covers, too!

Pretty sure I'd get a weekend job at that place, too...

LOL!

I actually have exchanged a few emails with Kent, and I've seen the truck in person twice and sat in it once. They are really good people, but I think they are super busy. I already plan on buying AEV wheels, but I'm going to see what else they come out with. And yes, we've talked about the snorkel.

I also commented on the thread you started on the AEV Forum :D

I would like a Power Wagon specific front bumper that doesn't stick out 8" in front of the truck.
Seems like everything available is built to fit a winch in front of the diesel intercooler

I am actually in the works with backwoods bumpers on a close fitting front bumper. A few on here have also contacted them but I got lucky enough to be only an hr away so they are making a bumper up to test fit. I have a 4G tho so they're still looking for a 3G.

I think a rear winch would be super cool. But you can always get a receiver mounted one I guess.... But one that is strong enough to pull our trucks is over 100lbs!! I want to be able to flip down my licence plate and have a hook right there to grab. Cab mounted controls or a wireless controller would be a must too. Oh the possibilities!!!!
