Cold air intake
Cold air intake
Which is preferred for the 6.4 from those who are using them, the K&N or S&B and what are your reasons behind choosing the one you did? I have always used K&N products but have heard good things about the S&B. Just wanted some feedback before pulling the trigger on one.

Re: Cold air intake
I am not running CAI, but AFE also makes an enclosed CAI for Power Wagons. I use a an AFE dry media filter in the OEM air box. Not sure these enclosed CAIs are of any value unless you are running a tune or some sort of forced air induction. I wouldn't run an exposed filter that pulls hot from engine bay either. Modern unmodified, fuel injected, NA engines are only going to pull the air it needs to run efficiently.
Re: Cold air intake
I put the K&N on within a week of ownership, so far really like the sound. Honestly couldn't tell you if it helped much (seat of the pants feels good, but might just be the better sound), with the gas mileage this thing gets I'll take any 10ths I can get lol
