Exactly. I reverse park and have better visibility anyway when doing so. Two things id remove from my PW. Front park sensors and the stupid cargo camera. Park sensors I'm removing. Cargo camera isn't worth the effort obviously...

It is worth noting that you could relocate the cargo camera to somewhere useful...like the front grill.

Any time it snowed my front sensors stopped working.

which is why i love the protrusion of the Thuren bumper. slight but aggressive, protective but functional. really dont have to worry about anything coming into contact with it or the grill at slow speeds.

mine is getting coated this week and installing soon. seriously debating the addition of a push/bull bar, but i concur it works best welded to the winglets.

I think I'm gonna do a low push bar. Something kinda like this. Not sure if i'll bolt it to the winglets (if possible) or weld it to the center piece yet.Image

The AEV front bumper requires you to remove the winch from the stock cradle between the frame rails and relocate it to the bumper itself? If so then I am no longer interested in the bumper, that sucks.

I think the Thuren bumper is less than easy on the eyes lol, I find it flat out ugly so that's off the table along with the Kinzer, they just aren't my cup of tea. This is frustrating, I want an aftermarket bumper that provides more protection, looks decent, doesn't weigh 200lbs, and doesn't require me to move the winch lol.

On the 3G's, the only choice for what you want would be an Aluminess. You have a 4G. So check out Aluminess.

so i believe the Thuren fitment for a 2018 powerwagon wont be beat in style, clearance, and quality. this beast of a bumper is perfect to gain that front clearance, mount any lights you desire, and keep those pesky shopping carts from causing any problems

If you're into Jay Leno's chin and sharp angles that don't match the rest of the truck.

Yea I dono, I honestly dont really care for the overall look. Some angles look good, and others just look effed up. To me anyway. To each their own. Its certainly way more functional than the stocker!!!

ill get some other pictures today to show it off even more.

with the 2018 rebel style grill, the bumper does not deteriorate the form of the front end. honestly, i would probably go a different route with lets say, a red, white, or alternative non Black PW color being that it is obtrusive in nature, which it should be, first line of defense

the all black with the extreme appearance of the approach angle and more visbility of the tires...it is so perfect in form, but the function is ideal as well.
did i mention, if you havent seen this bumper in person off the truck, it is a magnificent piece of what could be mil spec quality.what a freakin tank this is for the weight.
seriously.

very well thought out as it relates to mounting design, d rings, and the light mounting options... you can get as creative as you want here.

it is flat black coated, that has a satin finish from american protective coatings in South Florida. Linex would have serious mounting tolerance issues.

A little late but to the OP question; there are a few aforementioned options out there. Most seem well engineered (from what little I know) and let's say "aesthetically creative" but serve a few interests great and others poorly. So....depends on what you use the truck for...

For example: In my average day I have basically zero chance of driving through a boulder field or climbing rimrock (and should I encounter it I have several atvs, utvs and two feet to do that job) but a near certainty of hitting several bump gates and driving through/over mesquite and juniper regrowth. So a bumper that has great approach angles but does nothing for me if it leaves the grille and headlights exposed. That may not be the case for others but it's certainly a question worth asking yourself...

On my new truck I went with a Frontier grille guard on the stock bumper as Ranch Hand claimed theirs wouldn't fit. Fit and finish are great, it seems to serve its purpose so far and they are built right here in the Lone Star State. They also make an option that relocates the park sensors to a horizontal bar just above the winch. IMO it looks like a problem waiting to happen so I just went with the "regular" model and turned the button off. I've had Ranch Hand grille guards and full replacements on several gen2 and gen3 trucks and they worked great. I also have full ARB bull bars on all my toyotas and they are an engineering masterpiece (compared to most aftermarket bumpers; fit, finish, warranty, air bag retention, safety, etc). I wouldn't hesitate to put one on the new PW if I didn't have to move the winch. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Dos centavos.

It's probably the best quality less hassle bumper you can get right now. With all the mess we've seen from all these other companies. I feel like I'm getting Amazon level of service and experience when I buy stuff from Don. I order it, it shows up, it's not garbage. And if I have a question, customer support answers it quickly.

And he's technically a small business, so hats off that everything is this good.

It was a jab no doubt but a lighthearted one. Either way Bill, you and Mom are probably right, if you don't have anything nice to say just shut the fuck up.

I dig the Thuren bumper from a functional standpoint but agree the aesthetics could be better.

Function = +10
Form = +5
