I have one of the very first bypasses. Just pissing around with it. I locked my rear axle down go the highway at 70 mph just to see if it would lock, and unlock. It will without much drama. Making a turn with it locked. The PW wanted to push the front to the outside of the turn. But it will turn.

Your speed is irrelevant so long as you are driving straight when you lock the differential.

BLM, the smaller box would be better for 4th gen trucks too. You may as well just use the smaller box for all years.

Yes I have. Its not the drivability issue I would be woried about at all, its the locker physically trying to lock at a high rate of speed that would worry the hell out of me.

Disable switch installed on the 3rd Gen control box. I didn’t like the way the electronics were backfeeding through the circuits trying to find the ground when I disconnected the ground wire, so scrap that idea. This way works much better, It kills the power to the relay boards, all self contained inside the box.

The 4th Gen box is waterproof due to its location in the engine compartment. The 3rd Gen box is not waterproof because it mounts under the dash. The next size smaller waterproof box is too small. I can build it anyway you guys want it, waterproof or not waterproof.

The 3rd Gen prototype is finished, adjusted and tested! It works perfectly! I ran out of time for writing the installation instructions, so I’ll be working on that the next couple of evenings after work.

Again, simply thank you for taking the time to make these. This concept has been the only thing I really never liked about my PW. Now I can rid myself of that single thing.

Realistically, when is a reasonable time to consider shipping out my kit? I think I was #12. If I seem eager and excited, I am. Thanks again!

Just looked to see if any progress had been made on these units. Low and behold the bypass is a reality. Have been waiting many years now for this to happen. Please put me on the list, 3rd gen 2009. RBRig, you have my greatest appreciation for completing this project and a big THANK YOU!!

I am so excited about this. In my mind this will complete my Power Wagon. I guess I get why Dodge limited the lockers to low range for liability but I really want to be able to use my lockers when I feel I need them. Not limited to only use them in low range.

I have thought about using the function of this quite a bit and I would like to enable mine with a switched momentary switch. Meaning that it will only work when the ignition on. Any time the truck is turned off i would have to depress the momentary switch again to enable the use of the lockers. I think a latching relay can be used or two relays can be wired to work like this.

I can't wait!

Could someone with a 2005 please provide a good, clear high quality picture of the fusebox/power distribution center by the battery? Specifically focusing on the positive battery post on the outside of the box. This picture will be used in the 3rd Gen installation instructions for the locker bypass. 2005 is different than the rest of the 3rd Gen years.

I prefer to connect to that power post and avoid the possibility of corrosion that exists at the battery.

Thanks! :patriot:
