Re: 2013 Power Wagon for Sale, 60k miles
No worries!
OK here's how we do it. It's really quite easy as long as you have a buddy with a welder.
1) Take the factory torx screws out of there.
2) Get 2 1/4"-20 hex nuts. Stack them and have a buddy weld them to the top of the factory screw. I used 2 stainless hex nuts per screw since we had them lying around the shop. I think it allows a little more clearance for the socket arm too. As you can see I did both screws so I could mount another device on the passenger side.
3) Go to amazon and get the ram mount parts. You'll need a 1" ball with 1/4"-20 male threaded end. These are about $9. You'll also need a socket arm and x-grip holder. There's several options to choose from but I went with the shortest size socket arm and it works great.
4) Put some loctite on the threads on the ball before you screw it in to the welded screw/nut assembly, otherwise it'll try to un-screw itself as you're driving. Put the factory screws back where they came from, grab a beer and enjoy.
Cheers
