'01 Ram on 42"s -- Rock Crawler --$9,900

Post by ramv » Tue Dec 19, 2017 9:06 am

hinking of selling my 2001 Ram 1500 SLT Sport Off Road Reg Cab short bed (119" Wheelbase). Just don't use it anymore. Been sitting in the garage. It's sad. I'm the original owner. Bought new in May of 2001.

135k km (85k miles)
5.9 L -- Hypertech Programmers, speedo correct, 87/91 octane program; stock Cat, Magnaflow 13x9 stainless muffler with over frame dump Always ran semi-synthetic oils
46RE auto -- Dakota Digital Gauge
NV 241J/OR (4:1)
Dana 60 Front/Dana 70 rear -- ARB/Detroit -- 5.13s-- oem discs front/Ford E350 rotors/K20 calipers/Great Lakes brackets out back -- Biondo Line Lock -- ARB Compressor
42" Iroks (well worn) on 17x8" Allied Rock Monster steel 32 bolt beadlocks (including spare)
7" Skyjacker front springs, Bilstein 7100s (360/80) remote res front/Edlebrock IAS rear (12"(travel)
Thurenfab SHD steering linkage, track bar. West Texas Off-Road Stage 3 hydraulic assist steering. (Custom box, pump and 2"x8" hydraulic ram)
EVO Off road lower control arms, Skyjacker uppers
Rear is stock with Rancho Add a leaf. U Bolt flips, shock relocate. Diff is the low spot. Removed OEM shock/sway bar brackets.
Rear driveline is 0.250" honed DOM. Spare is as well., Very stout.
ARB front diff cover/rear stock spicer (Crane covers included as well)
Full exo 2" 0.120 DOM cage, custom bed with aluminum panels, door bars (for doors off). Built by Evolution Machine in Calgary. Rockstomper rock sliders.
23 gallon Jeep GC fuel tank in bed with 5.9 ZJ pump/filter
All OEM systems/gauges/AC work, speedo is correct. Fuel gauge works/accurate.
OEM 40/20/40 seats in good shape, have Wet Okele covers that are very worn. RCI lap belt. Winters cable trans shifter. Stock t-case shifter. Posi-Lok 4x CAD shifter.
Narrowed front fenders, Hella/Pro Comp headlights, Hella rear backup/floods
LED signals/stop
Front Warn XP9.5
Sony Xplod Marine head unit, Infinity 200 watt RMS Sub/amp
Cobra BT CB with 48" antenna on flex mount
Rear receiver hitch (es)
Thuren Fab spare tire mount (w/ 42" on beadlock)

Spare 5" rear lift springs, drive shafts, axle shafts, steering box, etc.

2011 14klb GVWR bumper trailer, 18', LEDs, toolbox, recessed tie downs, steel deck, rear 2" receiver/7 pin plug, recent paint, tires, etc. 5k miles or so. 10k lb WD hitch.

Truck is running, and active,. Battery (Optima Yellow Top) is on tender and only a few years old, but limited use, guessing it shot. Steering box and trans leak from sitting in garage the last few years. T case, brakes, axles aren't leaking. Engine runs good, all angles. Truck has been rolled etc. Glass is good, doors and new hood included. Firewall is bent from roll, passenger door doesn't open/close well

Will sell truck separate of trailer. Not interested in selling trailer until truck is sold. Email aj@trailseeker.com for pictures/info.

This truck has been wheeled hard. Frame seems to be straight and drivetrain is sound. Truck was Ultimate Adventure in 2004 and 2005 on 37"s. It's been wheeled hard but maintained. Body looks like it!!! If you want to drive it on the street it needs a front sway bar, and decent tires. Bias Iroks are not good street tires. I have driven it a lot on street with no issues in CO and UT. Minnesota questioned the lack of mudflaps. Some of the welds on the bracing on the cage was done by me (ugly) but most is very professional. Suspension is stock mounting points. Have sheared 5/8" grade 8 control arm bolts by hitting the diff with no bracket, mount or arm failure.

I have driven this truck on the Rubicon, Fordyce, Hells Revenge, Pritchett, Lower Proving Grounds, Holy Cross, Patriot/Liberty, Blanca, Die Trying, Topless, Billings Canyon, 21 Road, Golden Spike, Rusty Nail, Coyote Canyon, Lower Helldorado, Area BFE, Green Day, Carnage Canyon, Carnage Gulch, etc. It's a solid platform, and comfortable. I rolled it on Behind the Rocks on a very optional line. I have not taken it through Upper Heldorado, Britney Spears. With some decent sticky tires, I think it would be solid on any obstacle. 119" wheelbase gives you a lot of options.

Looking for $9,900 for the truck or $13k for all. Will consider serious offers. Will sell truck separate from trailer. Located in Castle Rock, Colorado (near Denver.) Open to delivering or meeting part way

:o

I remember watching this transform from stock to this back in my pavementsucks.com days. I always wished I had the balls to do that to mine.

You getting out of wheeling or what? Dont tell me your already gonna start turning the PW into one!

Good luck with the sale!

Thanks! Love it, just don't have trailer storage within a reasonable distance and the neighborhood has cracked down. It's just so much time to commit to a trail to retrieve and return the trailer (currently storing at a friend's in Wyoming) plus we like to camp and I can't tow our little rv trailer and the Dodge.

PW on 35"s with WK sliders is pretty awesome for mild wheeling. Probably just add a dirtbike for the wife and we will use those for harder trails and the PW for milder.
