AFE Cold Air Intake

Post by Lockedup » Fri Oct 12, 2018 7:43 pm

Bought my 17 PW used and came with the AFE momentum gt CAI and I would like to go back to stock. I plan to add the AEV raised intake with prefilter. I am in the Chicago area and would prefer meet up and swap. Only looking for $200 for the CAI. Thanks

Which intake do you have? The only AFE intake I've seen does work with the AEV snorkel. The system reuses the horn leading into the fender which is what AEV uses. Personally I'd keep the CAI.

Asked AEV and they said it only works with stock. Type of CAI is in original post. Thanks.

AEV are a bunch of tards, I wouldn't call them on the phone expecting anything but a cookie cutter response. They're the same people who claimed any gear set lower than 4.10 was noisy and why they didn't offer lower gears.

The AEV raised air intake replaces the factory airhorn in the front of the air box. The AFE CAI uses the factory airhorn.

Lockedup - it will work. Just as Reloaderguy said. I have the intake, helped another guy on the FB group with the AEF intake. They do in fact work together. AEV is just covering their ass if it doesn't. They don't want you to complain.

They give you a replacement airhorn that you rivet to the factory box. As it turns out, you can use it on yours as well.

Thanks Reloaderguy and BA

Do you know if there are any threads/ pictures out there documenting it? Maybe the guy on FB group?

Also wondering if the AFE with AEV raised intake would be considered a closed system/ water tight? Not looking to go screw around in water, but curious.
