Put me on the list if/when you get the third gen ironed out. Mines an '07. Right now I have no lights, lockers don't work and stabilizer does not disconnect, I believe because the smart bar is hosed. I took the connector off of the smart bar and there was some melted plastic around the large pin. Would your solution still work if the smart bar is fried? Seems like it would. Is there any chance your solution would cause my lights to work again (assuming they aren't working due to smart bar issue)? Thanks.

I received my bypass kit today! I hope I can find the time to install and test it soon. Nice work Myoung! I appreciate your workmanship. Looks very professional.
Just a quick question. I read that metal buildup on the magnet in the diff can be an issue in regards to causing a short. Should this concern me now? I plan on cleaning the magnet anyways, whenever I change the diff fluid. I think I read that magnet gap adjustment is no longer critical with your bypass so how does the magnet factor into the equation (if at all) now that I have a bypass. Sorry if this sound dumb or if if it's been explained already. Also, I am guessing that the smart bar only controls the sway bar disconnect after bypass installation.
Many thanks. :D

If I may chime in, I purposely didn't change my gear oil nor clean the magnets until after I installed this kit. It worked flawlessly with crude on the magnets. You should be fine. The hardest part about the install is taking your time unplugging the existing connectors. Took me about 1.5 hours and half of that was being careful not to break the old connectors. I placed some photos and spoke more about it here... http://forum.powerwagonregistry.org/vie ... =22&t=1798

Thanks Will! I'll be sure to be careful as breaking one of those diff plugs would be an expensive tragedy.

I found spraying the connectors with Corrosion X really eased taking them apart. I suppose WD40 or something similar will work also. It allowed the red lock to slide easier.

I just use a small flat head screw driver. Works good for me.

RONAN, glad it came in finally. Magnet gap isn't critical with the kit since it doesn't use the sensors (which is why it actually works, LOL). And yes, the smart bar only controls the sway bar now.

Well I hooked up my bypass harness today and it works wonderfully! Locks up very quickly. Very nice work Myoung. My truck is a 2013 and I also mounted the box in the same location as TrueBlue '13 PW, on the front pillar just below the t harness plug on the passengers side near headlight. It was much easier due to the fact that I didn't have to remove the air box and reroute wiring that was in the way. ( see photos page 14)
Have any of you sealed up the connectors with dielectric grease? I was thinking of doing that tomorrow. Thanks again Myoung for your dedication to this project. Your talent is appreciated.

I'm so glad these are all working as planned. That mounting spot was actually my first choice but decided on the other location for two reasons. It's more out of sight for dealer visits and there's far less chance of water getting in the box. Everything is supposed to be water tight, but you never know. It's a great idea to put dielectric grease in all the connectors, especially when mounted in the alternate position.

I am. If you'll add your name to the list in the thread below, I'll get in touch when I do the next run.

I'm not sure if these work on the 14s yet. Theoretically they will, but you never know what they changed.
