Stainless brake lines
Stainless brake lines
I have a 2012 powerwagon and am planning on getting stainless brake lines for it. Can anyone confirm that we can use the same lines as a 2500 truck? I have talked to Crown Performance and they say they don't know if they work and also want the banjo bolt size and female thread size. Or I have to take them off the truck and send pictures. Also, if we can use the regular 2500 lines, should I get them 2" longer since I am installing Thurens 2" diesel coils to level the truck.

Re: Stainless brake lines
I have the Crown stainless brake lines on my '08. It's the same as a regular 2500 for my year. Don't see why they would change it. On the length. Flex your front axle to the max and see how tight the brake line is on the drop side. I went with a 3" over with the diesel springs. They look long when not flexed.

Re: Stainless brake lines
KLM Performance sells lines for various years up to 2018, however a complete set is over $300 and there is installation note about the rear caliber lines that is probalmatic for me. It requires cutting and flaring the steel lines. KLM notes the front lines replace the entire OEM line from the MC to caliper.
I compared brake parts on Mopar parts giant and the front hose is the same part # for 2500 and 2500 PW
I'll probably leave it as is. My braking performance is pretty solid as built.

Thanks for the info. I tried KLM Performance but they say they don't have any that fit and they want pictures. The truck is my daily driver and I'm not pulling the lines and having to reinstall them just for pics. I also believe they just take your order and have Crown Performance make them. That's why I'm going through Crown Performance.

Re: Stainless brake lines
When you get the Crown brake lines from KLM. You get 3 lines. One for each front caliper and the rear line that goes from the frame to the axle. The option for the other lines is for the rear calipers. Where you have to cut and flare. I got the 3 line kit.
Just read about the 2013 to 2018 lines on their website. Going from the MC to caliper now. Plus how many drop lines you have in the rear.

Re: Stainless brake lines
Honestly, I'd rather have drums in the back, more surface area than those tiny things we have back there.

I take it that he has never driven a vehicle with drum brakes that are full of water.DamageWagon wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2020 6:13 pmYou’re wrong, I’ve unfriended you, and I’ve requested that you be added to the Terror Watch List.OffroadTreks wrote:Honestly, I'd rather have drums in the back, more surface area than those tiny things we have back there.
