Apparently Toyo 37 MT are type 99 tires in bcm

Tech said he changed the tire type to that in the BCM and speedometer matches GPS now. Presumably after the series of other things you need to do to get that to take without alarms.

It's all relative - if you've only run M/T tires on a specific vehicle, then that winter performance is the "standard".
Large lugs without lots of siping are not ideal in the snow...

The guy I pulled out of Hyalite canyon with the siped ATs didn't ask why my truck wasn't slipping or how I managed the 700 mile snow storm.

Snow is such a subjective term. Are you talking snow and ice covered roads, type of snow, snow depth? My highly siped Toyo RTs are great on snow covered roads but mediocre at best in deep snow. Honestly I'd rather buy a tire for deep snow (MT outter lugs and closer inner lugs) and use chains for ice if I have too...

It's purely subjective. I think the poor snow and ice performance of MT's is overstated. This winter was particularly bad in the PNW and I had no issues. In one instance I drove 700 miles in a single continuous snow storm that was said to be the worst in 40 years. Conditions ranged from water ice to 2' of standing snow on 10" of hard packed ice.

Having worked in Zak's area I think siped aggressive AT's or hybrids is probably the best for his conditions. Portland gets ice storms that shut the city down. I've been there after the area got 1/2" of water ice, studs would have been best but that's a pretty expensive option given how limited the use would be.

I have no problem in town. But I think I need bigger lugs and more aggressive tread for deep snow. I'm really thinking about Cooper STT Pros after seeing them in person. I think the closer alternating 3 lug center will hold enough snow to add traction while keeping the deep lugs to clear. Idk... deep thoughts... and I won't execute until September or October... soo... months of me flip flopping around...

Well, a mt can perform better that an at or even a strickly snow tire in certain snow conditions, mainly like deep snow/powder situations.

But I dont care what anybody says... on most road travel situations i encounter, mt’s are hands down far worse that an at with siping. I would however like to try a siped mt... thinking that may be the best of both worlds?
