They just didn't want to sell you Toyos. If you want the roundest, highest quality tire, Toyo is the answer. Everything else is a compromise for lower price.16PW wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 10:07 pmThanks for the input guys. I went to Discount this afternoon and had them order me up some BFG KM3's. I've been hearing that coopers are a hit or miss as far as having issues with them so I didnt feel like taking that chance again. Plus I'm only having to pay an additional $160 for the KM3's when normally it would be an additional $400 or so over these coopers. I almost went with Nitto Trail Grapplers as I've had a set in 35s on my 1500 Ram and loved them. They were about the same price as KM3's but I figured I would try something different. I've heard good things about the new KM3 and that they have made some good improvements over the KM2 especially with reducing the road noise quite a bit. I was going to go with the Toyo MT but they said those tires are a bit hard to come by and can take a while to get in. Plus I've heard that they don't have the best life compared to other MT's and the guy helping me confirmed that his 40" Toyo MT's wear out crazy fast. I should have them by Monday. Wish me luck!

And Toyo tires dream of being half as good of a tire as a bee eff goodwrench tire.

No I live in Phoenix AZ. I'll definitely be driving them in the snow since I go skiing often so I'll be sure to give some feedback.

FordyceCreekTrail has a set that he uses in the snow. He was bragging them up not long ago, but other than that I havnt heard much chatter about them from him...1pieceatatime wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 5:54 pm16PW - are you in a snow belt? While I would expect them to be a bit better than the km2’s were, I would also think that they are nowhere near as good as a designated AT or snow tire.

The classic Michigan tire conundrum - mud tires simply being suboptimal for our winter roads.

He mentioned that he is here in the Phoenix metro area. That said, snow does (normally) fall this time of year in higher elevations, ie Flagstaff, so the potential is available.1pieceatatime wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 5:54 pm16PW - are you in a snow belt? I work for Discount and also reside in AZ. I've got some new General X3's that I'm dying to try in both fresh snow and ice. Well maybe not so much ice, but I am curious.

Re: 37's Not Balancing
I finally got the KM3's on Friday. First impressions are great! Smooth and quiet. Height wise I can't tell a difference, but I'm pretty sure they measure .2" shorter than the STT. Width wise they are definitely narrower which I'm completely fine with since I NO LONGER HAVE ANY RUBBING! I now have an extra 1/4 turn gain in the steering wheel which makes a decent difference when parking. I put them to the test on Saturday as I went playing around behind Lake Pleasant. A lot of rocky terrain and steep hill climbs. I never used the lockers because it was nothing crazy, but never had a tire break lose. They also have really good lateral grip as I was trying to get them to break loose on some turns, but they kept the back end under control. So far I'm really happy with them. We'll see how they hold up over time.
Re: 37's Not Balancing
I went through about 25 miles of pretty rocky roads and they still look like new. I think BFG really stepped it up in all aspects with the KM3. Time will tell.

Re: 37's Not Balancing
Couldn't agree more...both my 37's and 40's required zero weight to balance on an M/T. I'll never run a different tireReloaderguy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 6:04 pmThey just didn't want to sell you Toyos. If you want the roundest, highest quality tire, Toyo is the answer. Can't really read it on the Pictures but I'm guessing 37x12.50 wide and stock suspension from the looks?
Been thinking about 18x9 Method NV's and 37x13.50 KM3's for spring, currently running 315/70R17 KO2's on the factory wheels on my 2017
Re: 37's Not Balancing
Thanks! Yes, 37x12.50 on stock suspension. Do it! No rubbing and very quiet for an MT!StefanB wrote: ↑Sun Jan 20, 2019 1:09 pmLooks great!16PW wrote: ↑Mon Jan 14, 2019 7:57 amI finally got the KM3's on Friday. First impressions are great!
