Hubcentric rings

Post by gen1runner » Wed Oct 24, 2018 8:18 am

Question for those running aftermarket wheels. I was looking into get a set of XD addict 2s. I noticed they have a hub bore of 125 and our trucks have a hub dia of 120.9. was just wondering if any of you guys had hubcentric rings installed to make up that 4mm difference? Doing the math its roughly 1/16" of an inch space on a side for clearance which seem a little much.

I have CenterLine rims. Never had or used the rings.

I have the centering rings for my aftermarket wheels on my Ram 1500. The ones I have are a nylon composite material, which is fine because they won't galvanically corrode to the wheel. I have push-through center caps, so the rings I have are sized for the cap bore (106mm) and not the wheel bore (108mm).

I recommend them for anyone using aftermarket wheels to maintain the better wheel-centering of a hub-centric fit.

I had them on my Ram as well but it was a significant more space between the bore and hub than on my wagon. I would guess I would need someone to make a custom ring and even then a .062" walled ring probably won't be necessary

If you use your truck in such a way that you find you are airborne from time-to-time, then you might have a reason to be concerned. If that is not the case, then absolutely don't worry about the wheel hub oversize. Do make sure your lug nuts are torqued correctly!
