2016 Power Wagon and new tires and rims.
Hi,
I am wanting to put new rims and tires on my 16 power wagon. I am going to go with Mud Gapplers or Terrain Grapplers. I don't think the rim offset matters much for 35's, but the 37's I am thinking the rim may need to be specific. The truck is stock other than Diablo tune, K & N air kit, and new unlocked computer. I drive it daily and do some off road, but not anything wild. Eventually, it will get a blower to add some power. So, My question is, what rim configuration will work with the stock suspension and 37's or are they not a possibility? I was stuck on 35's, but started thinking about future plans, and thought I would ask the question. Thank you for any suggestions.

37x12.5R17 will work on stock rims, no new parts needs. Will get some run on swaybar and radius arm but very minimal. 37x13.5R17 would be best done with new wheels

I gave it to you in the very first response. You will not have any hard contact on the radius arms or sway bar with that wheel and tire combo. You will have to trim a little plastic which is worth doing to avoid reducing your turning radius.

Okay, so with the 17X9's and 18 offset do they rub or is there any modification to get them to work?

Stock wheels rub a touch, wheels with +18-25 will clear everything the best like Reloader said but that’s a big expense to prevent a little rubbing if you’re not wanting new wheels.
You need to do a little trimming no matter what wheels you do to run 37’s, for sure the plastic fender liner needs some love from a razor blade.

New wheels won't look like you're driving a retirement truck, so there's that.

Do you drive around with the mast up on your retirement sale boat or just when you load up your station wagon?MikeKey wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 10:51 amTo bad you put that grandpa cap on your truck.Reloaderguy wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 10:42 amNew wheels won't look like you're driving a retirement truck, so there's that.

I am wanting new rims, i just want to make sure and get the right ones. So, It sounds like the plastic inner fender liner will have to be cut one way or the other. Any threads that show what needs to be removed?DamageWagon wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 10:11 amStock wheels rub a touch, wheels with +18-25 will clear everything the best like Reloader said but that’s a big expense to prevent a little rubbing if you’re not wanting new wheels.

Re: 2016 Power Wagon and new tires and rims.
I have read of numerous guys with the 14+ trucks running 37's with no rubbing other than on the sway bar/radius arm (using the factory wheels). The plastic fender flare will need trimming if you get different wheels with a bit more backspacing, but you will probably no longer rub the sway bar/radius arms with new wheels.
Check reloaderguy's build thread. I think early on he may have some info about how he trimmed his flares.
