Anyone here have experience with Maxxis tires on the street? I think I've seen one person in the FB PW group that had a set but he is Canadian. Any of you guys run a set of Trepadors radials or Razr MT's or know someone who has? Specifically the big hoops.

Gun45boat is the man to ask. He’s been running the treps in 50 and 42 for quite a while now

Why would you run anything else?

Maybe this solves the 40+” tire issue. Run 50’s and you won’t need fenders.

Theres a guy on here running the Razr’s on his ‘17, but only a 35” so probably would not be much of a review comparison for you.

Razr' S. They appear well liked. I'm also looking at MTZ P3.

Those Razrs look sweet, only $400 on Amazon and a 40,000 mile treadwear warranty (at least on the smaller sizes?)

They're a lot less expensive than Toyos.

Would be nice to hear reports on how well they do or don't balance. 40k tread wear warranty on a 37" MT is interesting. E-rated tire as well although my d-rated toyos are as stiff as I ever need them to be.

Centramatic balancer would probably handle any balancing issues. D and E load range doesn’t mean anything realistically, ignore the load range. Load Index (the actual number in pounds that the tire can carry) is what matters. Sidewall stiffness and a tires ‘survivability’ are dependent on the tire itself and are not quantifiable measurements but you can get an estimate based on the tires weight, kind of. The D and E range Toyo MT in a 37” are the same carcass, the E range is physically larger and is designed to hold 65psi max vs 50psi. In comparison the Toyo RT and Nitto Ridge Grappler both lose load capacity when you go from a 12.5 to a 13.5 wide, even though max pressure is the same.

I've been running 35in razr mt for about 8 months now, no balance issues, run smooth for an mt, So far have been durable in rocks, great traction and tough sidewalls. I have some chunks missing from contact with a sharp fender. Wearing well.

Thanks for the input. The Razr looks pretty good and the price is right. Maxxis is one of the few companies that makes a load index 128 40x13.5R20 and it's affordable.
