Dodge off road

Are these guys still in business? Have been telling me they are waiting on bolts to send my new steering setup for almost 3 months. Can’t get anyone on the phone and the response on email is almost as useless as the phone. Seriously debating going after my money through my credit card company because of this. Any thoughts?

You wouldn't be the first to take that course of action.

You lost your money. They are nothing more the f@#king scum bags. They got me for $900 for a steering linkage that they never sent. They beat my credit card with the language they use on their billing. If I ever see that mother f@#ker anywhere. I will feed him his own co#k and balls.

What's the margin on parts you don't deliver?

I assume they are, Web site is still up, but that is not an indication of viability or solvency. File a complaint with your state's consumer affairs' division, usually part of the AG's office is a good start. Other options, dispute the charge and small claims court. Most CC companies allows only 60 days for fraud disputes. I'm not sure how your CC company would handle your case. Perhaps send DOR a certified, return receipt letter, *politely* asking why they are taking so long to fulfill order and what measures they are taking to get you the product.

Any due diligence on your part shows the AG's consumer affairs office and CC company you've tried to resolve the issue and DOR is not responsive.

I bought one of their steering braces a couple of years ago and no issues. Not defending DOR, but I have seen stories on here that would suggest something is going on that would give a person a reason to consider an alternative.

This is on the bottom of the "Your order is Processing" e-mail. Everything they have is built to order. That's where they got you.

You understand that most products are custom built and the build times on the product page are NOT GUARANTEED, they are estimates. You agree to pay the total amount of the invoice, and are aware we do not accept cancellations on products that are built to order. Any item listed with a build time is built to order. You also acknowledge that we have a 30 day return policy with a 20% restocking fee on stocked items, that there are no returns after 30 days of receipt, and that there are no refunds or returns on custom or built to order products after any amount of time. Submitting your order requires that you check this box to agree to the Terms and Conditions.:

This is Danny's method. I have been following threads just like this for years. Dodgetalk, DTX, here, all the same.

When he was small, it was always *I have so many orders I can't keep up*. Then it was *I need more people/bigger shop*. Then *It's hard to find good people*. It is always *I'm doing everything myself to keep cost down/because I can't find good people* or *I have to spend so much time on all of the forums/Facebook etc*. And there is never enough raw material or hardware on the planet to keep the orders moving.

And if he is monitoring this thread, he will be along with a GIANT wall of text explaining EVERYTHING.

Edit: I used to feel sorry for the guy. I defended him a few times in threads. He really appeared to be a struggling entrepreneur with some good ideas, a semi-loyal following, and no business sense. Now I see it's just the way he operates.

I remember Danny's epic melt down in a thread a couple of years back. He said everything you mention.

CC company is willing to go after them, and I have email saying it is built, just waiting on “bolts” lol

When was that e-mail sent? How many days, weeks?

That was the beginning of the week, of course the phone calls aren’t documented. But either I get my parts or I go after them.

Quick opinion as a business owner as I’ve seen this same scenario and response several times. I know of DOR’s reputation and I’ve worked with their stuff. I know that this is a common story. However, it would be totally beyond me if the first thing I heard of a customers’ issue was from a credit card company contacting me to inform me of a chargeback when I had not heard from the customer that they wanted their money back. If you haven’t contacted DOR yet and want your money back I would always talk to them first. I have my way of making sure customers are taken care of, and history might show that others in your shoes might have been put up against a brick wall, but it kills any conversation if the last resort is used as the first solution.

Also... Waiting for hardware for more than a few days is ridiculous in modern manufacturing.

Your money is gone. This is a common story we hear over and over again about Dodge Off Road and they are perma-banned from this forum.

In fact, every time DOR is mentioned, the Board automatically postpones approval of any new accounts for a 2 week period.

I've always taken it easy on Danny but he makes guys like Don and Marcus look bad. I don't think banning him is the right move but he's earned his reputation.

Thanks for the update. I like some of their products and would be willing to purchase some of it, but my money means to much to me to just take such a huge chance. Im not a gambler.

their actions show who they are. Seems their words are untrustworthy and their actions dishonest.
