Thuren Overland Suspension Compared to Stock Suspension

Post by OffroadTreks » Fri Jan 18, 2019 12:57 pm

Great video from my pal Allen over at AVR. He has some real-world numbers too, on increased travel length, and RTI numbers.

This is worth a watch for anyone who wants to know, what they get with Thuren.

Great demo video for somebody considering a Thuren suspension. Thanks for sharing, Mike.

I’d have liked to see him spend some time on the rear track bar. It’s a big upgrade, especially for his overlanding audience that likes to put weight up high.

He also mentioned that rear Boogies aren’t compatible with air bags, but didn’t cover the need for cradles (or I missed it).

Lastly, his travel numbers came in lower than Don’s because his measurements and calculation were invalid. However, the proof is in the putting, and I was glad to see him put the trucks on an RTI ramp.

I am think that Dons advertised numbers are compared to a normal ram 2500, which the power wagon is certainly already better than. No?

I take that back. I see he changes his numbers on his site; for a normal 2500 he says 20% front and 30% rear, and for the pw he says 10% front and 20% rear.

Regardless of the numbers, its certainly way better and worth the money.

Hmm, didn't know that the axle droop would increase once the, "springs get broken-in."
