Rusty, good luck tomorrow. Standard advice on the recovery is that when you think the arm is ready to use, DON'T. Give it more time than you think it needs or you can screw it up again. I was talking to the guy at my doc's office who fits ankle braces and such, and he told me that when he had his achilles tendon surgery, he tried to get back too soon and paid the price. And he's supposed to know better. Good news is that he said his surgery was relatively painless, done as an outpatient with local anesthesia. Post up when you feel better.

The nerve block, and other drugs are wearing off. I can start to think with a clearer head. I had more damage then first thought. I had torn the tendon earlier in my life, and didn't know it. So the surgeon had to remove part of that tendon. I'm in half cast to keep me from moving the elbow joint. It sucks typing with one hand. :(

Just take it easy, watch some baseball on TV, take a nap. You know the drill for the next few days.

Be careful with the feet-up routine. Doc probably wants you to keep the arm somewhat elevated to mitigate swelling in the arm.

Arm is up, on a pillow.

There is one part of the half cast that hits on my wrist bone that uncomfortable. Thinking on modding that part of the cast.

Can't leave anything alone eh? Even modding your cast lol. A couple years ago I bought a powerchair for my grandmother off of Craigslist, the guy was an old school hotrodder with a t bucket ford. He did something to the chair because it will actually lay rubber on high lol. Glad your surgery was a success!

The early 3Gs seem to be holding up better than a lot of their owners.

The wife and me went to the surgeon this morning. She got her cast off her broken hand. Yeah, she broke her hand 2 weeks before I got hurt. Me, I got the half cast off, bandage changed, stitches are still in. They put one of those wild braces on me. It's heavy, but so much more comfortable. Still not allowed to move the arm. The half cast was driving me crazy. It was putting pressure on my wrist bone to the point of me getting ready to mod it! Still have to take a pain pill every once in awhile. But for the most part. I'm done with them.

Don't skimp on the pain meds, better to keep ahead of it than to try to stop it after it gets unbearable. Advice from many health advisors.

Went to the surgeon today. Stitches are out. My arm is still black and blue in a few spots. Still have some swelling. My fingers are numb on the finger tips. Part of my forearm is numb too. Still have the wear the brace to limit movement of the arm. Start rehap soon. Have to call tomorrow to make appointment.
