Cell phone reception at home help

Post by fbenross » Fri Jul 07, 2017 10:59 am

My cell phone works everywhere at home, except the most important room, my basement Man Cave! If I just step out the door into the backyard, it works…15 feet into the room at my computer desk, no reception. So can I solve this without spending $$$.00 - i.e. Outside and inside small antennas connected together? Thanks.

Check out Wilson or Signalbox to get a booster that covers the bands that you need. Just beware, if you get the cheaper boosters that only support 3G, then the devices in the rest of the house will likely get 3G from the booster instead of LTE (because the signal from the booster will be stronger than the over-the-air LTE)

First, what model phone do you have? Obviously a rotary phone will require modifications to work correctly. But seriously, a lot of phones are getting updates that will allow Wi-Fi connection to let you make phone calls and now video calls free over the home network.

If you are on ATT, call customer service and tell them you have no cell service in parts of your home, and you want them to send you a femtocell antenna, free. They will do it to keep you as a customer.
