Chamfers reduce stress risers and help reduce heat concentration.

There is no need to do upgrades to 4th Gens or 5th Gens. They are superior in every way. I read that somewhere.

6" Carli SS brakelines on the way. CJC off-road

Inspection due at the end of the month, I will have it done then.

Right now: Step on the brakes & it stops fine, but the pedal goes down more than it used to & more than i like. Let up & step on the pedal again & it is right where it is supposed to be & has more power. He said they bled all the lines like 6 times & swears that there is no air in the lines. ?????????? Any ideas on what would cause this ????

Twin that's how mine felt/feel. They felt like they go down more than they did with the old pads. I didn't like the feeling. I did the same thing, bled both sides 8 times with test drives inbetween, even full day drives. It's not air in the lines. It's either the vacuum booster not giving the vacuum you need (that's why the second pump feels better) or something I'm not thinking of. They feel a LOT better when you get them warm. Cold, they feel sketchy. If you have a longer, harder stop you can feel them grab more during a single stop.

The pads just don't feel like "real truck" brakes if you will. Mine were the same, it felt like a downgrade at the time. I think they break in a little more, but still aren't what I wanted. I'm spending the money on EBC's next time.

Not super likely, but you may have gotten an air pocket/bubble in the abs unit. That can give a spongy pedal that won't go away no matter how much you bleed the calipers.

Get your brake lines changed first, then see what you have. It sounds like your rubber lines are starting to stretch/ flex. 6" lines are going to be too long if you are running stock height. The 3" set I'm running are just a little bit longer then what I'd like but aren't hazardously too long. If I went with the 6", I would have had to reroute the lines to take up all the slack or replace them with a 3" to keep a safe amount of slack.

In case I decide to lift my truck down the road, I won't have to pay twice. 3" of extra line is not a big deal to me, just a couple extra zip ties.

If you decide to go from 3" to 6", it's like a $12,000 investment lol. Driveshaft, brake lines, spacers and drop brackets, tube bumper, rear links, bed cage, cab cage, LED light bars... 6" lift is expensive. Gotta do it all at once, too [emoji2]

Even if I went 4", the 3" brake lines would need to be replaced. For a $5 difference in price, the 6" was the way to go for me.

Don't forget, a 6" lift for a Ram 2500 is a 4" lift for our Power Wagons. Unless it is a Power Wagon specific lift. PW's are 1.5"-2" taller than a reg 2500.

Putting Thuren 3" springs on gave me a 4" lift.

Don't forget, once you hit 6" of lift you gotta do the roll cage, link the rear and have front bro-lights. Otherwise bad stuff will happen

Those are diesel springs, thats why.

Those are the same ones I plan on using if I lift my truck at all. Wait a minute---I see there are now 2" springs avail, that will give me a 1" lift. Says they are stiff, so a good HD front bumper would help them ride better. I really only want an inch or 2 but I am NOT a fan of multi rate springs with some coils closer together than others. My experience talking to the 4-5 people I have seen with them on: after a year or 2, the close together coils end up touching each other or stacked or what ever you want to call it, basically they are dead, if coils are touching.

And by the way, after the 6" lift you have to be sure to have the mirrors in tow position at all times.

Thuren only makes diesel springs. Carli makes gas springs but they ride like crap on 4th gens I've heard.

Olyelr, I believe there is another mirror option there. It's either tow position, or you can have both mirrors ripped off by brush strokes. But both mirrors must be identical.
