Sad day

Post by verdesardog » Tue Jul 05, 2016 11:33 pm

I had to put my dog down today. I found her in the forest 13 years ago, she was a good dog, I'll miss her.

I had to put my 16 year old pit a couple years ago. I know how bad you must be feeling about now.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's hard to believe how attached we become to our furry little family members. To be honest, I like my pets a lot more than I do other family members (or other people in general).

I feel the same way. I'll go out of my way for our pup in a minute and kick someone else out in the cold.

I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

Sorry to hear of your loss. You gave that dog a good life. I had to put my last dog down about a year ago. Rescued a B&T Coonhound at Thanksgiving, so begins the next dog chapter...

Thanks all guys! I will probably be getting another dog in a few months. Aimee was found in the forest when she was just a pup. This time I will be looking for a rescue dog that is around 1-2 years old and already house broken :)

Sorry to hear about you losing your Aimee. My dog is also named Amy, and it is true what they say about a dog being man's best friend. My Amy is getting older, and I'm already dreading the day when she passes on.

Michael, will you train her successor for SAR duties? That always fascinated me. You don't speak much about it here, but I admire the work you do in your environment. In my area, we may have to search a neighborhood, or a small patch of woods. Where you are, wow. I can't imagine what you can run into.

When I realized any dog, and not just specific breeds, could do the work I was quite surprised.

We will be waiting for your news when you find your next best friend.
