Before we get started, I know, :nopics: . I will work on that tomorrow with my son.

Cap is on. I LOVE it. I stopped 2 places on the way home & got compliments at both of them. Looks really sharp, but more importantly to me is, it functions great. We had a torrential rain on the way home & even worse once i got home. No leaks. Glad i decided to put the Yakima load Warrior on tonight, all the bolts that hold the bars in the tracks were barely snug at all, except for one. I fixed all 4 & mounted the basket/rack. LED lights are bright. Tool box holds all of my homemade wheel chocks w/teeth & my homemade blocks for stabilizers on the camper. I coated them all with 10x deck coating from h-depot in sandstone color. I adjusted the basket to the rear, so i can stand on the tailgate & load/unload the camper spare.

Oh yeah, for anyone who has an ARB fridge/freezer, whos digital temp on the outside, is not accurate with the temp on the inside, here is an AWESOME way to fix it:

http://www.6daysoverland.com/2015/08/ho ... ridge.html

My 82 qt is off by 6-8*. I just adjusted it up 4* & will wait & see what happens. My 50 qt is off by about 10*. I will fix that as well. Super easy to recalibrate your fridge.

JSYK: this re- calibration stays with it, even after it is unplugged & replugged in !!!

So, this morning, reading the digital temp on outside of fridge, the inside temp is fluctuating between dead on to within 1* of the set temp !!! Re calibrating seems to have made it much more accurate.

Power block under tool box (lower left) & 3 hook thingy i had them put in. $26, for ex cords & such.

Good shot of LED light strip. There is also one in the toolbox & another 4 LED light that faces into cap, above rear door. They do a REAL good job of lighting it up at night.

Love this thing so far.

So, here is an update. Just got back from a 600 mile round trip. Got down to 42* one night. Fired up the heater/furnace & nothing. Tried the 2 burner propane stove & nothing. Fridge no workie on propane either. I did all the usual common sense checks & nothing. Good thing we had lots-o-blankets & our Woolrich blanket with us. Took it directly back to dealer as soon as we got back today. They fixed it on the spot. He said it is a common problem on all new campers. for some odd reason (probably China), the hose that goes from the cylinder to the regulator collapsed on the inside. There is an internal sleeve inside the hose & they keep collapsing. Anyway, i was happy they pulled someone off a 110k 5th wheel & he fixed it & i was on my way within an hour. Call me impressed.

We took the ARB 82qt fridge with us. It worked AWESOME !!! I plugged it into the 500 watt/1000 watt peak inverter & ran it on 120v the whole time. The inverter was plugged into the dash 12 power outlet. When running, it drew up to 260 watts according to the inverter. Mostly around 190.

Truck issues : the rear locker light came on & started flashing yellow. I disconnected the battery for 30 min. . It keeps coming back on. Stopped by dealer today while it was flashing on way home. They put a code reader on it. 13 codes came up. Yes, 13. Made an appointment for Monday. Locker codes. Air bag codes. Engine codes. & others. I told them the truck runs fine. In fact, it ran GREAT while pulling the camper in the mountains. That HEMI LOVES to REV !!! Numerous times people tried to pass at the bottom of a hill, figuring i would go slow up it. As long as i got it into 4th gear at the bottom & got the rpms up past 4k, i could pull 60-70 mph all the way up. Had the canoe on the roof rack/s, bikes, gear, paddles & a bunch of other shit in the bed. Had all my stabilizer jack blocks, wheel chocks, jack & all my ridgid power tools in the side toolbox. Camper pulled great. Wife kept telling me to slow down. I could do 80 easily with zero issues (but mostly kept at 65-70) passing semi trucks or them passing me. No sway, no wiggle, nothing. Very happy. Bed in camper officially sucks, a new one is in order sometime in the future. I welcome all comments & suggestions when it comes to camper beds. Are the sleep number beds as good as the hype & are they worth the $1300 price tag ?

8 mpg. 93 oct fuel.

Almost forgot, my free ARB fridge monitor was waiting for me when i got home too !!!

I had the sleep number bed in my Diesel pusher RV and we both loved it. We loved it so much we bought one for home use. Thats when we figured out the bed had issues! if you go to bed and get up at the same time, like we did when camping, they were awesome. Once we got one for home use we quickly figured out there was a major problem if your sleep schedule differed, then your air bed was impossible to adjust and use. My wife would get up before me and then my side of the bed went flat. I would wake up with major back pain. We finally gave up on home use of the bed.

For the RV where we slept and woke up at the exact same time it was great! Don't pay retail if you get one as they are 50% off if you look hard enough. The ones that get returned are just as good and 1/2 the cost or less. We got both ours at 50% off and free shipping. The one for home use we put away because it was unusable for us as our sleep schedule clashed and made it a major pain in our backs. When we retire we plan to give it another try.

I have a sleep number bed in my MH. It has 2 controllers. One for each side. No problems with getting up at different times. I'm 220 and the wife is about 130. She always gets up before me. I have no problem until I roll over on her side. She likes a different sleep number. The only thing with our's. Is that it will lose some air if we leave it sit for more then a month with out using it.

Any mattress you get. Make sure you get a good box spring. Also measure your bed area in the camper. You don't want to get the wrong size bed. Like what's the difference between a queen and a queen short. About 6".

Yea ours had two controllers as well and my wife was the setting 220 and I was the setting 120 so when she got up before me I sagged to the bottom of the bed because I used such a low setting and it really sucked. She never noticed a problem but I sure did.

In regards to the sleep number, I would say %100 worth the money. I agree for a long time I didn't think hype was worth the added cost...but after finally breaking down and getting one I can't believe the difference. I hurt my lower back pretty bad a couple times between high school and college through snowboard crashes, dirt bike accidents, and lifting incorrectly. In my late 20's when I could barely bend over to put my shoes on after waking up...sleep number completely fixed all of that. I would recommend going into one of their stores to order something though...as irritating as it is, we got a lot of things comped just by talking to them. Plus found out things like if you order their $150 cover...it covers the bed for life against stains if something seeps through the cover. But highly highly recommend it

Yup, ours is a queen short. 60"x75". Sleep Number does make a queen short with rounded corners, so it would fit ours exactly. Yes, i would definately get the one with 2 seperate air chambers & motors & controllers. We have no box spring. Plywood base. Super firm  . I added another 1/2" piece of plywood over the factory "veneer". I wouldn't even call it plywood. I also had to add 2 more struts to help lift the bed to access the storage area.

Thanks for the input.

Loving the cap so far. The little 5" difference in height over a cab high cap was worth it's weight in gold. I was able to fit both our bikes in the back. Secured with blockheads & pvc rear wheel holders & straps & a holder for each front tire. Worked awesome. No way without that little extra height.

So, just a quick update: Made a mod to my ARB Fridge/s that works awesome.

The 82 qt has been plugged in since i got it, to 120v in the house. We use it as an overflow fridge kinda, but mostly for my stuff---cause i HATE having the reg fridge so friggin packed that i can't find anything & have to move tons of shit just to find what i want. Can't WAIT till my kid moves out & stops eatin me outta house & home. So, anyways, to help make the fridge last longer (at least thats what i am hoping) I bought one of these: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Optimus-F-404 ... n/25209563 when ARB was new & have been using it & have it blowing into the compressor area of fridge, to assist the built in fan. Been working great. Today, i noticed a lot of dust in there & the fan. So, I took it all apart & i cleaned it all out good w/compressed air. I also fixed all the bent cooling fins that were like that since new. All nice & straight now. After I put it back together, I thought a filter of some sort would be a great, especially if it could be easily cleaned & re-used. So, I got this: https://valuhomecenters.doitbest.com/pr ... ner-filter Cut it to fit & duck taped it to the outside slats, where the air is sucked in. Bam, done. Simple, cheap project, w/great results. There is enough in the package to do both the 82 qt & the 50 qt & still have some left over. I may do my big home fridge like that as well, to help keep the dust out longer.

Sounds like home. My wife stuffs so much crap into the fridge that I need a flashlight to find anything, and stuff falls out every time I open the door. So I just eat whatever is in front and then she yells at me for not eating the stuff in back.

EXACTLY !!! I simply don't have the patience for that anymore. My stuff, my fridge, = much simpler.
