Just checking in, I'm still alive!

Post by myoung84 » Fri Feb 27, 2015 9:09 am

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around much lately and have had zero locker kit production. We found out my wife is pregnant again a few weeks ago and this kid is not being very nice to her! So, she's pretty much been out of commission lately leaving me to handle most everything around the house, which I don't mind, but means no locker kits for you guys! She's finally getting back to feeling more normal so I'll be able to sneak off to the garage again to get building. I hope to have a few done and ready to ship this weekend.

And, I ordered up a new car for her this week as well, a 15 Charger R/T Road and Track to replace her 14 Grand Cherokee. I'm excited to have something a little more fun to play with than the Jeep. Not to mention two car seats fit a lot better in the Charger than they do the Jeep. After owning the Jeep for 2 years, I have to say I'm not a big fan of SUVs for small kids. It's a damn nice vehicle, but the back seat is really cramped and sucks for the giant rear facing car seats. My sister-in-law recently bought a 13 charger and it's surprisingly way better for a family vehicle than the Jeep. The trunk is huge as well, but for road trips when we have a lot of cargo we'll still use the truck.

Added the NAV and rear camera options and nothing else. The R&T package is already pretty well loaded, has the lower 3.07 rear axle instead of the 2.65s. Didn't opt for the Technology/Driver assist crap or a sunroof this time. It was extremely difficult not to order the Scat Pack, but we just couldn't justify it. It was about $4700 more than the one I ordered, but you get a lot for that money. This will serve us just fine for now.... This is essentially what we ordered:

Congrats to you and your wife. I hope she starts feeling better soon!

I like the blue on that car! As far as the Jeep goes, my buddy has a 2014 JGC and I was surprised the back seat wasn't bigger. My wife has a 2009 Honda Pilot and from the outside they appear to be about the same size, but the Pilot has way more interior room. I almost hate to admit this, but I really do like the Pilot for what it is, and I'd never trade it for the JGC.

Congratulations to you and the family on new Baby and that's a very cool vehicle to haul the little ones in. If I were gonna get a car it would be that or a Challenger but the 2 doors aren't very practical with the little ones.
