Ball joints

and wheel bearings are showing signs of wear. Just the uppers, lowers are ok. I guess it's time to bite the bullet and change them all out and install a free wheel hub kit. Carlie front springs will come after that...

wanna come help? It was 104 f in the shade today. I don't have a garage that my truck will fit into, will have to do it early in the day, take a siesta, then more work after the sun goes down. May be a few refreshments along the way....

What balljoints are you considering? I'd personally go with Dynatrac's or Carli's. You'll never have to replace them again. Yes, they are expensive. And yes they are well worth it (Especially when you won't have to replace them every 50K miles). And free-spin kits are expensive...I replaced both unit bearings myself with original component bearings (SKF Industries) for under $400.

carli b/j's
yes free spin kits are expensive but worth it for me with the less maintenance, no front drive components turning except for when in 4x4 and biger, wider spaced bearings.
All my other 4x4 trucks have had unlocking hubs.....

You will certainly have a vastly improved front end with those mods! I love the functionality of unlocking hubs and wish they were standard on our trucks. I would have gotten them but didn't have the $1800 at the time to drop on a free-spin upgrade. Are you going to replace your front axle u-joints as well? I think it'd be worth it. Spicer's are good but I run greasable NAPA u-joints and give them a squirt or two of grease every 5-7K miles.
