I hate it when that happens to me. The picture is right side up when I click on it. Probably some kind of software glitch.

Well, I’ve been a lurker and occasional poster for awhile. Finally got my 2018 Power Wagon back in November of 17. just now posting because I couldn’t get on the new site. But with a little help I’m finally back on. Been busy using the beast with a trip to Florida and the Grand Canyon , and pulling daily driver duties, and it’s been a blast! Been planning this purchase for awhile. I even had an eight foot tall third car garage door and an extra 6 feet of length put into the garage on our new house in order to more than accommodate the impending Power Wagon  This truck has exceeded my already high expectations. I’ve had a ton of vehicles and this thing is by far my favorite!
We have a trip to Moab planned in October. A site at Archview RV resort is already booked.

Drove the truck to the grocery store last wednesday. Truck sounded louder than usual. Got home, and sure enough, exhaust had fully separated right after the cats. Poked around under there and figured out what coupler/etc i'd need to do the repair. Need the truck this weekend.
My M18 grinder was still at the tool depot, being repaired under warranty, so I hopped on the moto and ran out to storage to grab my shitty old corded one. Ground down the welds, made some modifications to the coupler to get everything to fit over the parts I couldn't get the grinder to.
Go to put the clamps on thursday night, and one of the clamps is missing the nuts. Truck still inop.
Friday night, stop by Ace and pick up two flange nuts for the clamp. Get 'em on, do a fuel run, and quick run to home depot. Running well.
Going to have my buddy's shop (shop I actually trust) replace the slowly-leaking heater core, investigate why it overheats on a hard pull with a trailer (didn't used to get that warm with the same trailer behind it, so something's up), and while they've got it, i'll have them do a more permanent repair on the exhaust.
Image

Needed the pickup saturday for a tower decommissioning. Like climbing a wet noodle... everything came down fairly easily, but goddamn was it sketchy af over 40ft (of 60ft).
Image

May not be the most fuel-efficient vehicles, but damn they're handy to have. Old junk getting moved around.
Image

Saturday night, finish the prepwork for a bedliner. $80-ish DIY roll-on kit from autozone.
Image

Not super pumped about this stuff (Herculiner). First "primer" coat went on okay, but I feel like i'm going to need a lot more than the 1gal (and additional qt I bought just-in-case) that came with the kit. Like, a lot more.
Waiting on the first coat to cure right now, sun's going down... either finish out the material I have later tonight or tomorrow morning.
I feel like i'll have to buy another kit and throw on one or two more coats before it's sufficiently thick/durable.

Coat 2 on monday morning. Better, but still not very good.
Image

Mask/prep, apply coat 3 saturday morning.
Image

Coat 4 this morning (sunday), pull masking off this afternoon. Decent, "good enough" quality.
Image

For the time/money i've got into this project, i'd have been better off just taking it to line-x and having them shoot it.
Image

Still needs to sit for a few more days before it's hardened/cured enough to use.
Image

Tailgate and latch cover will get moved into the garage later this evening, truck can stay parked right where it is till next weekend.
Rebuilt the front brake on my moto, actually works right again now. Replaced handlebars and grips while I was at it.

I know Linex is expensive, but I dont care, it is so heavy duty and looks so damn good.

But kudos for getting that done on your own

Local line-x shop quoted me about $400 for it a few years ago.
I've got:
(2) gallon kits, $80/ea
(2) quarts, $30/ea
$220 right there, more than half of their quote just for the materials.
Add in a couple more $$ for tape, xylene, drop cloths, paint trays, etc.
Then factor in two weekends of dicking around with it. :|

If the one $80 kit did a decent job, then I'd say go for it. But it doesn't. Not by a long shot.
For some situations (trailers or small-projects come to mind), the kits might be a decent option. Truck beds, pay someone else to do it right.

Another epoxy repair job on the feature that holds the reading lamp lens in.
Image

Dumb design; not a lot of support on that part.
Image

Bedliner i'm also not very impressed with. It's had two weeks of no use to set up and harden, which should be more than enough.
Pulled the carbides off my sled for the expo (carbides and track studs will destroy the concrete in the complex, so they have a no-studded-tracks and no-carbides rule for machines on the floor) and had two load/unloads... and the shit's already gouged down to the paint.
Image

Image

I think i'm going to pick up some trailer glides and just turn the bed into a sled hauler.

Man the white paint still shines on your truck. You shouldn't really have to but a deezee heavyweight bed mat would take care of that gouging. I have a drop in liner so loads slide and the HD bed mat provides grip but it's so thick nothing can gouge it.

I have a bed mat from my old-old half-ton. Stuff's like 1/2" thick, in two halves. It's like the rubber mat used in gyms. Each half probably weighs 60lbs.
Should pull it out of my garage closet and throw it in the bed. But again, with carbides on the sled skis that stuff's way too "grabby" and skis don't slide on it. Hence my idea for trailer glides.

Hayman burn area. Couple days of training, camped out for a few nights. 15min commute was kinda nice.
