In an ongoing effort to reveal the truth about the attack, the USS Liberty Veterans Association has filed with the Secretary of the Army in the manner prescribed by law a detailed, fully documented Report of War Crimes describing the circumstances of the attack on our ship and evidence that it was a crime under international law. In accordance with international law and treaties, the United States is obligated to investigate the allegations. I had family on the aircraft carrier that was the so called flotilla escort of the crippled USS liberty. I only became aware of its true significance when my uncle came clean on his death bed about what he knew and what he suspected about the incident. He said that he was ordered to never speak of the incident for fear of court martial, the loss of his retirement and or possible jail time. It was not until his death bed that any of us knew about his story and I'm not too sure he told us everything either.
