Rear drive shaft rub

Post by Easttnrhino » Thu Oct 10, 2019 2:19 pm

Has anyone experienced the rear drive shaft rubbing the skids/crossmember at full drop? And if anyone has what was the fix? Thanks

With longer-than-OEM shocks on a coil spring rear end, yes. Are you getting contact from the skid crossmember that goes under the driveshaft or from the gas tank skid?

Maple Off-road has some parts in the works for improved clearance.

Limit straps.

Drop the gas tank skid and make some clearance room with a hammer or a cutoff wheel.

I learned about the gas tank skid clearance problem the hard way, ate a driveshaft.

One of the members here had reinforced notch fabbed into factory plate. That plate may be able to be adjusted some depending where it's at now. I recall the plate is bolted to frame on tab/hanger.

Drive shaft rubs on crossmember that gas tank skid is mounted to. The factory coils are getting real loose (as in afraid they will come out. Back to stock length shock or like you said limit straps. Thanks
