Now let's see a comparison between his good ram air diff cover and the OE aluminum finned cover. It seems very strange that Gale spent so much time disproving the aftermarket covers but skipped the factory aluminum cooling cover.
Agreed.

Show us the data... Use the OEM cover as the baseline. I have little doubt that some level of performance improvements can be made, but is the value there? Is the bang worth the buck! OEM parts have to be cheap and only perform throughout the warranty period.

He went after the after market covers because the people that buy them are more likely to make a change and buy his cover than the people that think they could use something better - but will never act on it! :D :D :D

Think it might be a while before Banks finishes this.

 Will we now see a new product line ? Chassis dyno coolers ? Other ones won't work, but his will. It is really bizarre though how some vehicles get so friggin hot at the diff & others don't. Not sure what the deal was with my old PW. It consistantly ran hotter than most. Even empty it would hit 170*F in 7 miles @ 55 mph on a 70* day. Not my problem anymore though.

Was wondering when Banks would come out with their own cover.

I was waiting on something innovative with the hype and when the end product was released, not impressed. I can see this is cover is not suitable for a 4WD unless building a SEMA-like, non-functional suspension truck. The scoop or duct thing would likely get caught on something and cover cracked or torn apart and possibly untold damage to diff housing or clogged with mud and debris.

I wouldn't want an aluminum cover for off=road use. My cast steel Rock Crushers has some deep gouges in them.

most 4wd owners in general probly dont drag the housing across rocks. so that lower hanging scoop piece should be just fine. for the handful of people that do venture through rocks ,it migh not be the best choice of covers. how easily it could be clogged with mud is hard to say. to many variables to even take a guess
