Sleeping Platform Build

This is my take on a sleeping platform for a truck bed. I bought my 2006 Power Wagon in May of 2017, and for the summer ran with a full length platform with an queen sized air mat on top. It worked but based on that configuration I came up with some things I would change.
Design goals:
-Maximize head room. Keep it as low to the wheel wells as possible. Ditch the air mat for a foam mat
-Easily removable. The best feature of the Power Wagon is the versatility. Hauling hay and horses, 4 wheelers, camping, etc.
-Have the ability to use a foot well. Great for sitting up, changing clothes, storing shoes.
-Modular. Full platform for sleeping, partial platform for when pulling the camper.
-Full width of the bed platform
I went back and forth on a drawer, there are some really nice products out there, but keeping it low and having the foot well part of the time and full width other times was a no go. So storage tubs and hatches it is.

I'm curious... what kind of storage tubs have you found to fit under your platform?
Also, it's hard to tell in your slideshow pictures but it doesn't look like there's a support leg under the forward cross board, does it flex much or is it secured somehow that I can't see in the picture?

I went to several hardware stores, and the tubs I ended up with are actually hefty brand from Walmart. For a lot of the tubs that I had seen, the lids had an indentation after the lip of the rim, I liked these ones because the lid were raised instead. There is 7.5" clearance a the lowest points, and these tubs were a touch over 7".
You are correct, the forward crossbar (not painted) does not have a center support. It is attached with a bolt and T nut to the side boards at both sides of the truck. You can see some flex at the front most panels at the center, but it is minimal for normal use. I did not notice it when we were using it as a sleeping platform with mattresses installed. I considered adding another support, but I have no plans of doing so at this time.

That's nice! I used tubs from the local Kroger. they have wheels on one end and pull out super easy. I don't have a center support though.

That is most excellent. I like the modular sections and the built-in hand-pulls/hinges on the individual sections.
