My Outback wasn't like that. I could carry a full load.

Maybe they improved over the years, IDK. Maybe Keystone Tail Gator was a shitty brand, IDK. I can tell you it was one of the first things I checked on our current camper & was glad to see it had actual angle iron supports. Also, not sure how much you guys know about water. I learned quite a bit while in the US Army & in my lifetime. Water filters are NOT water purifiers. 2 totally different things. 99% of Water filters do not filter out bacteria & virus's (which is what makes you sick). Most just filter out sediment, minerals & bad taste. 20-25 microns is the norm for particle size filters. I use a 5 micron sediment & a carbon filter for taste in my whole house water filters. It does affect water pressure. It helps keep the washing machine, dishwasher, shower head, faucets & ice maker from plugging up when they flush the hydrants & keeps the chlorine taste from being bad. To get to remove bacteria & virus's, you really need a 0.2 micron filter. Not practical at all in a whole house or camper system. Water pressure would be almost nil.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3F6Y3cDsSL8

The Pro's: They are portable, work on gravity, work with tap water, work with pond water, work with river water. They are purifiers.

The con's are: they take up counter space, cost more initially.....yet are cheaper long term. IMHO, the cross contamination issue addressed in the vid can be solved with a clean garbage bag & some vacuum line caps on the filter discharge nipples, like these https://www.summitracing.com/parts/trd- ... gJ9CfD_BwE .

Just putting this stuff out there for everyone to know. No one wants to get sick while enjoying the great outdoors. Algae & bacteria can also grow inside fresh water tanks & pipes of RV 's. We never drink the water from the camper, just do dishes with it. I also sanitize the system every spring with plain old bleach. No scents or dyes or concentrated formulas. Plain old bleach & water.

Traded to 2019 ZR2, Red.

4Runner was a GREAT vehicle but could not even tow our 6x10 enclosed utility trailer comfortably, even when it was empty-ish.

It was time. Truck was still leaking BADLY every time it rained or snowed & melted. It was leaking at every single gasket (rear window, front window, all 4 doors). You could sit inside & watch it run down the inside of windshield, rear window & drip off the upper side door beams. It was molding on the inside & starting to stink. Needed new steering gearbox, shocks, new upgraded T-style steering, tires, brake lines, d/s manifold bolts that are barely recognizable due to rust-removed & replaced. Everyone around here would not even touch em once they looked at them.

So, say what you will. PW turned into a money pit. Was no longer a joy to drive. Hoping that this downsized 4x4 with lockers will fill the bill & have minimal problems, but..... As long as manufacturers keep making engineers design things that fail soon after warranty is up, we are going nowhere fast. Regardless of what you buy.

He didn't give me the details. Now that I think of it he may have had an 05. It was darker silver.
