I'm back

Post by Greg1914 » Thu Dec 05, 2019 11:55 pm

I have a 2005 power wagon #1914 bought the original locker by-pass (lost my password so registered again) I now have 245,000 miles purchased the truck in 2008. It has always been my dream truck. Thanksgiving weekend the front right tire locked up, first time I have seen my truck on top of a flat bed! It is in the shop should now tomorrow what was wrong I think for t diff or transfer case. When it would bind up if was making a really bad metal noise. Not the breaks or bearings. Any way good to be back on the forum. Portland Or

CV joint?
I'm no expert, but I'd be curious to hear what it is.

The shop finally call back and said the locker broke inside the diff, part on order and only from dodge @$500 ouch!! My guess is there is more damage and not just to my wallet. I will update as I hear more.

That's amazing that it didn't cause any other damage in the diff. Glad to hear it was only $500. That seems more labor than parts $$.

Update the bearings in the diff went out and the metal fragment ruined the locker magnet and ring . The shop had to order the locker from dodge which is why it cost so much.

Anyway I have my truck back and it is supposed to snow next week!
